Read moreBuilt on top of an old landfill, the Simplot Sports Complex is a great example of reduce, reuse, recycle. Many seagulls still hang around -- probably wondering where their free meal went. Or maybe just because it is a great place to hang out - could 23,000 gophers be wrong?
This facility gives people a place other than downtown to practice driving on one-way streets and jockeying for a parking spot.
If you don't appreciate trotting across 161 acres to use one of the three soap/paper towels optional bathrooms, please keep in mind that we are fostering athleticism here, not hygiene.
Playground for the little kids was recently upgraded and is beautiful.

The parking lots can be paved or graveled so if it's raining expect to get a little dirty. Bathrooms are scarce but available. Drinking fountains can be found in various places as well.
