From beginning to end it was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Omar, the owner, personally corresponded with me over email to plan a private tour for my father and I. His quick responses, and willingness to help work around my schedule was above and beyond. Once at the meeting spot both my father and I were greeted by Tom. Cannot say enough of Tom and his expertise. Not only can you tell that he knows his history but actually enjoys it. The detail and history of each stop was incredible. During the tour, Tom brings to life the history of Boston. Personally, my father and I enjoy the history of the Winter Hill Gang and James “Whitey” Bulger. Both Omar and Tom ensured they highlighted Bulger, his hangouts, and activities as part of the tour for my father and I and showed us incredible locations that we would otherwise not have seen. The rich history and information that this tour brings to life is astonishing. Tom ensured that the tour consisted of breaks for the restroom, and locations with seating while he brought history to life. There was not a single lull or break in the action and Tom would even tell us history and cool fun facts about other parts of Boston we would pass while walking from location to location. His ability to talk to and really grab onto his audience was seriously cool to see. When we met up with Tom to begin the tour he said he just wanted to give us an experience with memories that would last a lifetime and honestly I don’t think I’ll forget how great this tour was. Just a fantastic experience. Omar weaves a great story throughout the tour, detailing the exploits of many of Boston's seedier characters. He includes anecdotes that you won't hear about in documentaries or books, stuff that would only be known by a true local.

In addition, Omar's demeanor as a tour guide keeps the atmosphere fun and humorous. It's not easy to maintain a balance between understanding the gravitas of much of Boston crime subject matter, while keeping the participants engaged and humored. Omar maintains that balance better than any other tour guide I've seen.

I highly recommend taking this walking tour. It lasts about 2.5 - 3 hours, but given how enthusiastic Omar is about his subject matter, that time truly flies by....

The OG Boston Crime Tour! I'm so glad I went out of my comfort zone and booked a spot for myself on a beautiful morning tour session. I definitely recommend to others, and it is something I would do again myself. Omar is fabulous, the group never had any trouble hearing his booming voice, which makes for an easy to listen and learn tour. He doesn't glamorize the criminals. As a tourist, Omar was the first Bostonian I really got to interact with, and he was exactly what you want in a tour guide- authentic, commanding voice, and very knowledgeable.
