I was just at a local microbrew in Upton MA where Mike and his food truck were located for customers to order food prior to getting seated at the outside beer garden..while approaching the food truck I was told to order quickly as they wanted to pack up and leave.? I wanted the chicken fingers but was told I could not order anything fried so I ordered/paid for 2 hot dogs. We moved to our table and ordered a beer waiting for our food to be ready. That call never came. As I waited for my two hot dogs I saw that Mike and his food truck was closing its windows and shutting down. I quickly got up and went over to the food truck door wondering where my two hot dogs were as they were closing down? I was told we shouted 4x the hot dogs were ready but nobody showed up. I said I did not hear anyone say anything and I was about 8 feet away.. . he then said the hot dogs would be ready shortly.. I hung around waiting for the hot dogs to be cooked. Meanwhile I peeked in the door and saw Mikes helper pulling 2 hot dogs out of the trash and was getting ready to put them back on the grill to serve them to me. I was shocked and yelled at him saying “are you really going to do that “ ? He quickly threw them back in the trash. I requested my money back immediately which he gave me without making any eye contact.. I could not believe what I saw and what they were trying to do.. I know Mike’s has gotten good reviews for his moonwalks which might be ok but I would not recommend getting them for any type of food service. I was disgusted. I would like to point out that the microbrew bar was outstanding and would highly recommend visiting. Think twice about eating food at Mike’s outside barbecue food truck..
Responding to Owner's reply: Your statement is not accurate. I am not the type of person to post negative reviews. To begin with my wife and I just arrived in Upton and were told we had to order food before we sat down. This is the only reason why I came over to the food truck.. I was not angry you were closing way to early than planned. In fact, I would of be thrilled if you were closed. In addition, I am not sure what co-worker you are referencing either? Also, I was not impaired or acting weird because a food truck was closing. We met two other couples there as well and can provide further details if you desire. If you were not in the wrong why would he give me my money back ? Finally, it is ok to admit you made a mistake instead of blaming a customer. I am not looking to hurt small businesses but when I am trying to be served food that came from the trash then the public needs to know. Good luck...
Read moreOrdered a dunk tank and when my husband ended up in the hospital from a horrific motorcycle accident I quickly called and cancelled. I canceled far in advance (4 days) and they won’t refund our credit card. My husband has over 7 broken bones and not an ounce of compassion from this company. We called to order the dunk tank and they never said any cancellation policy when we spoke on phone. Then when we called they rudely said it’s up to us the consumer to learn their cancelation policies on our own. I am a business owner and that’s not true. The company is supposed to tell you their policies especially when the deal is done over the phone. We never got a receipt/invoice/ or any written anything yet when we cancelled for a very valid reason this company stole our money. We never had the party since my husband is still in rehab two weeks later!!! This company is not ethical nor compassionate. Do not give them your business.
Editing since this business is completely lying and most other 1 star reviews agree and edited to say the same. Nobody was rude and abusive, this call was made in front of nurses and nurses agreed Christina was the one insanely rude! We did say the reason on the first call, I couldn’t get it in on the second call since Christmas hung up on me!!! Awful customer service and Christina is clearly lying here. You held the tank for maybe 5 days before we cancelled. There was no huge demand for the tank since it was available last minute and you only held it for a very short period of time. So claiming you lost business is not true. Truth is Christina was rude and abusive and hung up when I mentioned we would be doing a chargeback because I know my rights, I asked them to refund me and they would not do the right thing! I know the consumers rights. Without us agreeing to a cancels policy then you cannot enforce one. We were never told about one. You claimed on the phone you do not have to mention policies to consumers and that’s completely untrue! Your reply confirms just how immature and rude you run this business. Stay away from...
Read moreUPDATE IN RESPONSE TO COMPANY RESPONSE: We booked this tent in March (three months prior the event-feel free to check the date of the deposit we paid) and ordered tables and chairs as well. We were not told the tent was in bad condition. Ordering three months in advance I would think we’d get the best tent they had. We did not call to complain about the tent. We complained when the round tables we ordered were unavailable two days before our event (after having ordered table cloths, decor, etc. for round tables). Their reply about us calling late is a complete LIE (can happily post a screen shot of the credit card deposit in March). Don’t let this company play down the mishandling of this situation. They absolutely should not keep this tent in their rotation. You’re paying for a service and getting junk.
Do not rent a tent from this business!! I rented a tent from them 4 years ago and they were great. I’m not sure if they are under new management now, but we recently used them again for a tent for an outdoor baby shower (June 7) as we had a great experience prior. The weather was calling for rain, so we felt prepared already having rented a tent. While I know early June is graduation party season and demand for tents is high, a company shouldn’t be renting out tents with massive holes. The whole point of the tent was an insurance policy because of rain. The tent was set up and was FULL of holes. There were two massive holes right in the front (pictured) and the rest of the tent had small slits and tears near the top, similar to cheese cloth. The guys did come back after set up and try to patch the holes, however there were too many to even make a difference. The patching material they used didn’t stand up against the rain and the tent was completely useless. A company shouldn’t be renting out a tent in this condition, totally useless. What a waste of money. Really do your research before renting a tent from them. You have no idea what will show up...
