Crappy experience. Crappy customer service. Exceptionally poor communication with customers. Staff at the deli counter are argumentative. Transparency to customers is poor. Employees at the deli counter, not afraid to express their personal opinions when they’re not warranted. Employees behind the deli counter also like to try and gaslight a customer and make them feel like it’s the customers fault. Employees of the deli counter don’t take responsibility for their faults or mistakes. I came in today to buy some meat and decided I would buy a sandwich. I ordered the all-American sandwich. An older lady in a purple shirt was making the sandwich for me and offered me a choice of cheese. When she mentioned I could have Havarti cheese, I said yes, please. I wish I knew this employee‘s name because I would mention her in this post however nobody was wearing a name tag. This female employee wearing the purple shirt did not explain to me. There would be an extra charge for a different type of cheese. Her supervisor or manager, another older lady wearing a greyish shirt came over and said the extra charge would apply. I tried explaining to both ladies that they should have informed me there was an extra charge. So the items that I picked up to purchase from the chop shop along with the sandwich, I placed back on the deli counter and walked out. I don’t like being made to feel like I have to pay for the mistake of somebody else and I’m not afraid to drop my items off anywhere in a store and just walk out. Definitely a trashy place. You let a customer walk out of the store with over $60 in a potential purchase over a $4 sandwich. I’ll continue going to Detweiller’s where I get better customer service and better...

Vacationing for the week and we happened upon The Chop Shop. WOW did we find a hit!!! What a great family owned butcher shop. I hope that all of you that are locals realize what a great place you have in your back yard. You are not going to find this kind quality at the corporate grocery. Steaks for 9 people with potatoes, asparagus, a couple begetts of bread and we even found a compound butter with garlic. Throw in a deli sandwich made to order to tide the cook over till dinner (wink wink), we had roughly $170 in it. You're not going to find a better deal or a better cut from a $50 a plate steak house. Mind you that we had 6 NY Strips and 4 fillets for that price. Salt and fresh cracked pepper on a 500°F grill is all you're going to need. I am a frequent shopper at the chop shop. Their meat selection is great and is always top notch. I was put off yesterday as I saw a customer in front of me in line get a free insulated bag from the cashier for being a first time customer, what - they were vacationing. I asked for one as well, and I got a rude flat out NO! Cashier and her helper were not customer friendly whatsoever. I have been a loyal customer for 20+ years. I spent $199 yesterday , which is not unusual. I felt a loyal customer should also receive one as well. This did not happen when I was a first time customer.
