You Never Know Thrift Store — Local services in Bradenton

The owner Fred made an agreement with me to purchase my mother's new computer desk, wicker desk with cut out glass top and matching chair, side chest, two new bar stools, pool table and additional pieces of furniture, for 200.00. He showed up at the assigned time and when he tried to move the pool table, which we discussed the legs needed to be disassembled from, and is in excellent condition, cracked a leg and decided he didn't have enough people there to move it. He promised to come back and remove it and in the meantime gave my mother $50 of the $200 agreed to. He has since decided he can not pick it up, and left her, an 85 year old Widow, with no other options. I offered to pick up her things from his warehouse and return his 50.00 but he wouldn't commit to a date but kept feigning travel regardless of my availability. Disappointment can't describe her feelings at his lack of professionalism and follow through. He has been disingenuous and disagreeable with any options we have provided, including picking up the product that he took from my mother's and returning his $50. He left her with a cracked leg on her pool table and swindled her for 150.00 He should be ashamed of himself, taking advantage of an 85 year old Widow. I could not be any more pleased with the customer service I received From Fred, owner of “You Never Know Thrift Store” which I have been following “You Never Know” on FB for many years. Last night Sept. 19, 2019, on FB , I saw 2 postings for furniture, I wanted to purchase. We are snowbirds and Since we live 2361 miles from Bradenton, Fl, in Regina SK Canada, I was unsure, what my options might be, as these pieces of furniture would certainly not be in the store when we arrive in Nov. Fred has a very successful business, and items do not last long. I contacted Fred, through a personal message. He was very quick to respond, even though it was very late his time in FL. He assured me, if I called him in the morning, He would take my personal info, and my credit card info, he would store these items, till we arrived in Nov. I was extremely satisfied with the sales transaction and this service well exceeded my expectations for this unusual request from many, many miles away, in Canada. I wish Google gave you 6 stars but these five will have to do! Jeff and his crew delivered these stunning pieces to me today. The bedroom set was extremely heavy because of it's top quality, but they deftly brought into the bedroom without so much as a bump on the wall and that is a feat I doubt very few furniture movers would be able to perform. The dresser was also top quality and again very heavy. It went through the doorways flawlessly, with the expert guidance of Jeff. I shop a few places for lightly used furniture but "You Never Know" beats the quality of the rest hands down within a 50 mile radius, none better! Aside from top quality furniture their store is packed with beautiful items as well as tools and, well,.... you never know! The best part was Jeff is a very caring and knowledgeable person, not the kind to drop off and run. He made sure everything was put together they way it should be, and placed where I wanted it.
