Found a dress in the "vintage" section, decided to buy it and when I walked up to pay these two INCREDIBLY rude women just stared at me, looked me up and down then one asked if I had even tried on the dress. I replied that I had not but it was my size so it should be fine-she then stated there were no returns (which fine, whatever it's 16 dollars and also NOT their business what I spend my money on).
Despite the snooty comment I complimented the store as it had a nice selection of items.. The woman said they didn't pick the items for sale, that it was consignment stuff. I then asked her if they would be interested in my collection because I am looking to get rid of a lot of stuff and she just stares at me again all condescendingly and says "Well. Do you even have anything GOOD?".
I'm sorry but who the heck talks to their customers this way? Subtly implying a person is too large for a dress (I am 5'9, 135 pounds by the way- last time I checked that was relatively slim lol) and then to top it off judging my appearance and assuming I was too poor to have anything of interest to consign?! Not to mention after getting home I used Google lens to identify the maker of this dress which I was told was vintage and it is NOT. This can be purchased on a foreign junk website for 12 dollars new and they sold it to me for 16 USED! No wonder they asked if I had tried it on, chinese sizes are smaller than American sizing lol.
Long story is that these ladies missed out on a HUGE bulk buy of ACTUAL true vintage items (I'm talking thousands of dollars worth-vintage band shirts, Y2K, etc) that I was considering bringing to the store and lost a customer who thrifts almost daily. Shame on those women,...
Read moreGreat store in downtown Brainerd. Some people are complaining in reviews about the prices being high for a thrift store. That could be that this isn't a thrift store, but a consignment shop with generally high-end products (Columbia, The North Face, Patagonia.) I haven't had to purchase a jacket from a retail store in years. Sometimes some amazingly good deals, like the like-new down Patagonia vest I picked up for $18. Expensive?- depends on your frame of reference. Others are complaining about the employees- well, like most stores, be a good customer, and you'll receive good...
Read moreNice selection but the product I bought was broken. I was told I was unable to return it and that I would have to speak with the manager. I’m here on vacation and understand that it’s a weekend however, I feel as though it could be taken care of with a quick phone call. Now I’m out 50 dollars and have no possibility of returning a faulty item, that I was told was functional, to a store that is over 13 hours from my house. Again, I understand that managers do not typically work on weekends BUT, I feel as though an accommodation could’ve been made considering the...
