A legit review- I was incredibly skeptical at first. I needed a proper fitting saddle for my mare that worked for the both of us without breaking the bank. My saddle fitter recommended Horse Saddle Shop, so I said why not and checked it out. It seemed legit, and I was a little desperate to be able to ride again, so I ordered. Now I have stupid short legs, so I was very pleasantly surprised that they offer custom fender lengths for the saddle I purchased (A BigHorn Cordura saddle). It did take a while, understandably, around 4 weeks to process I think? But once it shipped it only took a few days. My favorite part of the whole deal was that I could exchange my old saddle in order to chip off some of the new saddle’s price. No matter how I tried to sell it, I had no good offers, so it was a huge relief that I could easily and conveniently turn it in. And the cherry on top? AMAZING customer service. And I mean, replies within an hour most of the time, replying as late as 7PM, super friendly and helpful and not the kind of people who try to beg you to buy buy buy. You feel comfortable and not like you’re talking to a big corporation. Definitely recommend and if needed I will come back and order...
Read moreSo where do I begin??? This saddle still hasn't seen the back of a horse! The fenders were set up for someone close to 6' tall! I tried, and tried to move the fenders up through the tree, with no luck! I finally was able to enlist the help of someone else. We got one side moved up, without much issue. The other side however is STILL not able to slip through the tree! There is a black leather piece on the bottom of the tree. The front of the fender/stirrup leather snags on that, and cannot be pushed through! For being made by Circle Y, I am VERY DISAPPOINTED! This is still not a cheap (inexpensive) saddle! In addition to that priblem, the fender leather itself is VERY stiff! Stiff to the point that it feels like cardboard! Not happy with the lack of quality control! This was made to order, because it wasn't in stock at Horse Saddle Shop. HSS contacted Circle Y, and they made it to order...sort of. If I could give it "zero" stars, I would in...
Read moreI recently ordered a saddle from them, and I figured when I was only spending $750 on a saddle that I'd take the risk of it being poor quality... unfortunately, I was right and then some. I didn't even put the saddle on my horse; I knew immediately it would be going back. Poor craftsmanship, low quality leather. It didn't even smell like leather, it smelled like plastic. The saddle stamp was crooked and it also came with different stirrups than what is pictured on the website. Horse Saddle Shop made no apologies for the saddle not being as described or shoddy things like the crooked stamp. They did not offer to help me find a different saddle. They did not offer to send me the correct stirrups or remedy the situation in any way. After I basically browbeat them into it, they agreed to refund the restocking fee, but not return shipping. Really disappointed with this whole experience, and I would absolutely not recommend. Will never shop at Horse...
