Higgins Branch "South" prices are unreasonably high, so - to move inventory, they use "tag sales." They choose to stock the "better quality" items at Higgins "South" - and the below average items stay at the "Higgins" location on Blue Bell at their donation drop-off site. The sales staff of mostly older ladies - are not very patient nor very friendly; but rather uppity, and rude - as if they are not content with their jobs. I overheard one lady yelling at a mentally challenged young man working there, and was absolutely appalled.
And then there is The "furniture Barn" on Alamo ... which is where all of your furniture and large appliances are re-sold ... it is manned with a gentleman who is strangely only friendly to "certain shoppers", but has neither the patience nor the personality to work with the public ... and the inventory is also way over-priced ... but again "tag sales" are used to justify that, and make you feel as though you're getting a "fair deal".
I believe the entire "Higgins" operation should consider the fact that their "empire" is supposed to help the shoppers SAVE money, while supporting their causes & charities around town. I believe perhaps a "chill pill" and a reality check would benefit...
Read moreThis is the mission I giver back to when my kids outgrown clothes, toys . They were so reasonable but this pass year no everything is like shopping at Walmart. These are used items given freely. I no they have to make money but seriously $2.85 for one pillowcase. I love that they give vouchers and food to help families. They have helped me tremendously n I love that but the prices with ppl on income with kids catwalk n there n buy like I use to. . I have a thick comforter I bought 2 yrs ago for $5.00 today I tried to buy one it was $21.00 for a comforter and 2 pillowcase. Really . Is all I can say. But I still buy toys for my kids reasonable price. I also get a voucher ever 3 months. I love this place n recommend it. I can't afford it but other ppl can so stop...
