Ross Carroll Bennett House Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Brenham

The RCB Bed&Breakfast was just what I needed for a quick escape from Houston! Cynthia, the host, provided top notch hospitality from the moment I spoke to her on the phone regarding my booking. The home is located right on Main street in downtown Brenham and is within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. The grand Victorian home and beautiful landscaping was so welcoming. The evening was spent enjoying a wonderful glass of wine and tasty hors d'oeuvres while touring the home and admiring its endless supply of historic furniture and treasures. I had the pleasure of staying in the Rose room. Cynthia and her team have taken great care ensuring the home is clean and crisp. I was very comfortable and felt safe, which is always important but especially during these times of Covid. Every detail was taken into account. I loved my adjustable bed and the sheets were fantastic! Waking in the morning I was greeted with the mouth watering smell of breakfast cooking. I enjoyed a cup of coffee in the cozy Gazebo out in the Garden. Cynthia's Eggs Benedict and cheesy grits were exceptional and it was so fun having breakfast in the fully set formal dining room! After spending the day in town shopping, we arrived back to the house were greeted with an evening cocktail and more of Cynthia's yummy treats. Our family rented all four rooms which made it an excellent place for us to play games in the evenings in the parlor. The hostess fed us royally at breakfast and at happy hour - you may not need to go out to eat because you can fill up on goodies, including wines, mimosas, etc. The home is gorgeous and decorated with period pieces. At Christmas the extra Christmas decorations were galore! The hostess has pets and a lot of antiques not suitable for children. The amenities in the bathrooms were more than I expected in terms of toiletries. Clean robes, plush towels, candies, and homemade bedside treats. New mattresses slept well. Wow! Don't miss this great place if you go near Brenham, it's worth it. Two blocks from downtown Brenham shops and restaurants. The owner lives on the 2nd floor and is friendly and warm but will amazingly stay out of your way when not...
