Purchased tickets in advance. The movie started at 7pm. I'm typing this at 7:41pm. My family has been watching the movie this whole time. However, I'm standing in the concession line, where I've been since 7pm. The major issue is that this facility hasn't separated the ticket purchase line from the concession line. They are one in the same. Now it's 7:45pm and my movie is halfway done, and I haven't seen one second of it. This system is horribly inefficient, likely due to understaffing. Nevertheless, I paid to see a movie that I'm not seeing. Now it's 7:48 and I'm still in line. It's worth noting that there are more concession areas well past the ticket purchasing line that are unattended. Perhaps placing a few employees in those areas may increase efficiency. But, what do I know? I've never managed a movie theater. Oh wait...there is one thing I know. I paid to see a movie that I'm unable to watch. Now it's 7:53 and there are still 4 parties ahead of me in line. So, the best case scenario is that I may see the last half hour of the movie. Here's another thing I know. I will never return to this theater. In addition, I will tell this story to many, many people.
Wait! I had to edit because story doesn't end there. When I finally made it to the front of the line, I was summoned by a loud and irritable 'NEXT.' While trying to order drinks and popcorn, I was told that not all of the sizes displayed were available. As in, 'we don't actually carry smalls, just regular and large.' Then I was told that the person filling my order could only fill half of it for legal reasons, and was offered the opportunity to suspend my entire order and wait for another cashier. Of course, I paid for what the original cashier was legally allowed to provide, as I didn't want to give up my spot in line, then waited for another cashier that could complete my order. When I got to the second cashier, I remarked on the inefficiency of the operation, to which he relied, "hey man, I just work here." Our experience here was truly surprising. When a family goes out to eat...or goes to the movies, they are paying for an experience. These places aren't doing anything for us that we can't do for ourselves. We can watch movies at home. We can make popcorn at home. By going out to do these things, we are buying an experience...and hopefully a positive one. Unfortunately this experience was a...
Read moreSet up is good, just got put under the new owner AMC that used to be Carmike movie theater the let it go down a little bit. But hopefully AMC will get in here and get it all cleaned up back to wear used to look before Carmike took over. And they do need to update their screens like the 3D and Oxford Mississippi has one way better than this one here or any of them. But it still has a lot of theater rooms to go into with plenty of seating. And for handicapped I wish they would make a little bit more room for a couple of the handicapped persons to have someone sit around them that's family or friends even ramp area where you can not chairs right beside the end and still have a little space for others to walk on the other side of the rail to get by just so the handicapped people will have plenty of space but yet be able to go to the bottom and turn around and hit an outside lane or something. But they do have seating it's just like one seat per handicap section or two on it and and and like to 3 wheelchair spaces and then another seat for two and then two on the end so it's really not that much seating for adults and children learning mind which I have four boys and one of them and we have to separate the family if there's no room. So picture that hand and popcorn across Isles in front of you. But I have hope and I believe in Pensacola Florida and I believe in AMC Two Step the game up because these are awesome theater we have here and we do not need to lose them we need somebody to step up and represent Pensacola like little town of Oxford Mississippi has the curved screens and a 3D is a magnificent if you hadn't been AMC people I suggest you go look and you will know the difference. Signing...
Read moreAbout a month ago we went to go see an 8:00 p.m. movie and we arrived at 8:14 p.m. and they had the doors locked and they would not allow us to see the movie, they said that they locked the doors 15 minutes after the last movie starts. So we went to Bayou 15 and saw the 8:55 showing. Then a week ago we went to see Thor at 8:30 p.m. and we arrived at 8:40 p.m and they were locking the doors, but let us in. They sold us on the extra large popcorn & extra large drink that you keep refilling. We went in to the theater and 15 mins. Iater went to refill the popcorn and the concessions was closed & they said they closed the concessions 10 minutes after the last movie started. That was the same time we had got there. When my family & I went to leave our car didn't start, our battery was dead. It was 11:30 p.m. & the parking lot was dark extremely empty! Only the employees cars were left in the lot, so I hooked up my cables & my wife and my 8-year-old daughter back to the theater and knock on the door and talk to the employees and the security guard and none of them would help us they said they did not feel comfortable helping us not even the security guard!!! so then the employees started leaving and they all tried to ignore us or give some lame excuse why they couldn't pull their car over by ours and let us jump start our car,and none of them helped us out. These useless, disappointing, disgraceful, sad excuses of human beings left us in the parking lot and refused to help us. eventually somebody pulled back there and gave us a jump start we end up leaving the parking lot...
