Hummel's Wine & Liquor — Local services in Bridgeton

Started coming here because I work overnight and it was the liquor store that opened the earliest in my area. I am a creature of habit and stick to my same box Chardonnay, but was disappointed when I walked in to see even though they had a huge variety of items they did not have boxed Chardonnay. The woman behind the counter saw me looking and asked what I was looking for, told me that she would start ordering it for me. I made sure to tell her that I only be in every couple of weeks to get one box but she said no problem and I left. I came back a few days later not expecting them to have it yet and honestly not expecting that she remembered, however sure enough there was my box Chardonnay. I was more than thrilled and went up to pay for it. That's when the man behind the counter asked me if I wanted it chilled, because they had also made sure to have some in the fridge as well in case I wanted it that way.

Are you kidding me?? Places like this do not exist anymore. Awesome service, awesome hours, and awesome selection!

I even asked the man that was there the morning I went and picked up my wine if they ever thought about selling Vapes, because I have to travel pretty far just to get decent vapes. He let me know that they wanted to but they were just trying to figure out which ones they should be selling because there are so many. I showed him the brand I love and that I know sells a lot, and then told him about two other brands that I know are very popular and make stores a lot of money. I should have known better at this point, but I expected him to just be nice and shrug me off. Nope! He asked to take a picture of the brand I had with me and wrote down the other two I told him about. I bet the next time I go there they're going to have my vapes! I freaking love this place! Sorry...

I won't hold the store responsible for one person's actions but, the actions of the Indian Lady today were very very very very very disrespectful, ignorant, unprofessional, and embarrassing. I walked in with my headphones on jamming to my music having a great morning. I forgot my physical card at home so I was trying to figure out how to use my virtual card which I never use. In the meantime, the Indian Lady must have been trying to get my attention a few times and I ignored her, which she didn't know wasn't on purpose. After about 10 minutes I finally figured out how to use my card so I removed my headphones, at that moment this lady exploded and became very ignorant of me saying, "Get out of my store because you have no money", "I won't serve you because you're taking too long to buy", along with other belligerent remarks that I found awful to say to your faithful customer as a Business Owner. This lady needs an attitude check and to watch how she stereotypes people because I've been coming to that store for over 40 years and not once came in there with no money to spend, that was a real head-scratcher for me, and will take my service elsewhere whenever she's there.
