Participating in this one time a year occasion is something I always look forward to and try to participate all six days it is here. It is amazing how many people attend every year which I'm sure is literally thousands of people daily or all together. It is a great place to go also if you are a photographer like I am because there are many things to take pictures of and share with others and I always participate in the photo contest they have each year and have one about 25 ribbons all together and all the years I have participated. It is really good going there to kind of get a feel of what it is like to kind of be in the country instead of just the city since Virginia is an agricultural state and you really don't get a feel of a country unless you live in the country area or rural area. I'm really like watching the tractor pull and the demolition derby that they have and many other things that take place on these Fairgrounds throughout the year also. It is a little bit frustrating that almost every year during the time of the fair it seems to want to rain but it's just something I have to deal with even though it's very...

I was shocked to see the Odyssey; I have not seen one in, I know, at least 10 years. We got the fast pass wristbands where the kids could go to the exit and get on; I think the longest we waited in line was a minute or two, which is great for those that have children with special needs who can't stand in lines long. My only two complaints are they do charge extra for the fast pass wristbands; these should be free if you have a special needs child.
Also, the food and drink prices were outrageous: I worked for a carnival for around four years, so I am well aware of some of the crazy prices they can charge for things, but $8 for a slice of pizza, $8 for a drink, and $4 for a refill was absolutely insane. We ended up going to Pizza Hut...
Β Β Β Read moreThis was my first time at a county fair in many many years. Westchester if you are seeing this, please bring back the fair. Most of the attractions did not open till later in the day. We left for a few hours and came back. Lots of parking, but lots of cars. We went the day when kids under 12 were free and kids 12 to 18 were $3. Lots of vendors, rides, games, and food. A lot of the food was surprisingly inexpensive. My favorite was the fried Twinkie followed by the fried pork tenderloin sandwich. There were also live shows at the grand stand. There were also live animals in the petting zoo and other events. Overall a great experience. Tonight is the last night so I suggest go if you are thinking about it. Looking forward to my next...
