Tara should realize the consequences that can follow an uneducated spineless review this great hospital and Maine! A collarbone injury will always be X-Rayed first. This sucks because you have to stand while in severe pain. At least I had to 25 years ago. If here are broken bone chips in the scan you will need surgery then will need a cast. Normal breaks are treated with a prescription of pain killers and a nice SLING. Unless you request your images, so they can duplicate them and bill your insurance. It’s is not standard procedure after you fell hiking at Shawnee Peak. How many collar bone breaks come from side impact air bags. Bet you have a Subaru Karen. Surgery is what would happen additionally. How would you set a closar bone Karen and then cast it. Ever seen someone with a cast in their shoulder? Maby they do in The town of Complain!!! Moto is “Bad Review gets Free Meals.”
I too graced that establishment in 8th grade showing off for a girl trick off a jump on Happiness is “Rec Skiing friday nights in 8th grade out ofWestbrook. Hit the jump awkwardly because it was made for snowboards. Sent hard right upside down into an oak tree. Knew something was wrong when shoulder was 3 inches lower the the other. I walked to aid station to show how tough I thoughtI was. The crunching noises from bones splintering and rubbing every step were something you never forget. Will you still be able to dance at winter prom tomorrow night? Of course, just a sprain. She cried the home walk down the trail. Dumped me next morning after my mom told her mom I’m bedridden. I’m gagging right now remembering this. The Rec director rushed me to B Hos and as you wood guess it’s a busy night. All skiers lol. My mom begged me to be careful as she was switching careers and insurance would lapse that weekend. Yup, after the most traumatic and painful ex ray as they make you stand up with you back against that metal board. OMG, I’m sure it’s different now. My shock was dwindling and pain increasing when mom comes in with my funeral director stepdad. He’s says “ I told we your accident prone” she slapped me so hard in the face I forgot about shoulder. She’s calling me MF’er and juvenile delinquent. Lol! I totally was a an idiot kid with no fear or anything. Staff runs in confronts mom. She tells them about insurance lapse and my promise to be careful. Just after the 80’s mind you. Doc and nurses say. That’s on me and I deserve it. Walk out. She’s an angel...
Read moreTonight I had to go the ER. Once at Bridgton hospital I had a wonderful, caring, open, knowledgeable Dr. Dr. KRALIK WAS excellent. The ER got busy my pain was 9 out of 10 with cranial pressure that was a 7 . I couldn't hold my own head up. Dr. KRALIK listened to me and heard my pain. I was so respected by him . My nurse Tina was amazing she listened about my pain , offered to help anyway she could. After talking about treatment we went with ketamine iv. I was a bit nervous but I was reassured. Tina my nurse it was her first time giving this med. She took time and read the protocol and made sure we both were ok. I was so happy with the Team I had tonight. My Dr was ending his shift, he took the time to come back to see me and spent extra time explaining that he had filled in the Dr. Now on duty. Soon the Dr on duty came in and spoke with me and said he was so pleased with our choice of treatment. I was and am so PROUD OF BRIDGTON HOSPITAL. Tonight was about my pain and my chronic diseases. I never felt hurried although through the door only feet away were other patients lining the hallways. I was treated like a human being not a number. I was able to leave hours later with much reduced pain, and with a plan for the following days. The second Dr that came on duty Dr Brown came back to chat with me again and said if you don't mind I am going to write a note to your primary Dr. So he will see we need to always try this medicine first with you. It worked so well and everyone was a bit nervous. With respect, kind words, listening instead of listening to reply, and truly listening to the patient this TEAM was amazing!!!! 5 Gold Stars to all that was part of my Team tonight. So proud to call Bridgton hospital our hospital. Respect goes so far I can never say Thank u to them enough. Thank you again for making me feel like a person that mattered. It will never b...
Read moreER experience in Bridgton has been mixed, depending on who the staff is. Some have been excellent, caring individuals. This review is about my last experience there, just over 2 weeks ago. My aunt passed out and fell onto her left side at our home. She was totally unresponsive, and I called 911. A neck brace was put on her. The ambulance said they were required to take her to the nearest hospital, which was Bridgton.
I followed after getting my car out of the snow. When I arrived, she was alert. The doctor said she had a large bruise on her left arm and wrist, which they x-rayed. It was fine. They got her up and she walked ok with a walker, so she was sent home. No effort to find cause of blackout. Not even mentioned that she had passed out on her discharge papers. Nothing about the neck. Or that she arrived on a stretcher. She was there in ER exactly 1 hour.
Less than 48 hours later, she awoke with severe left back/shoulder pain, asking to be seen by a doctor. She had been a stoic army nurse, so I listened and drove her to Memorial Hospital in North Conway. They did a lot for her: CT scan of head, thinking she may have fallen and then blacked out with a concussion. X-rays of back and shoulder. Fluids, because she was really dehydrated. Bloodwork, discovering a UTI. They really took care of her. I gave...
