I LOOOVE BETH'S!! Situated in the heart of downtown Bridgton, adding to the charm of this small town beauty. The inside is decorated with local art and photographs, it has a very welcoming home vibe. There's seating both indoor and outdoors, but limited space. It can and will get busy at certain times. However, the staff does a great job moving everyone along. You can always order ahead and or to go. Speaking of staff, the team here is very courteous, kind and welcoming. Always happy to answer my questions about the ingredients & specials.
Now the food.. it's absolutely delicious! They use fresh ingredients that are hearty & nutrient dense. My favorites are the hash, breakfast sandwiches and quiches. Can't forget that rabbit sausage too, YUM! The flavors in the baked goods, hash dishes, and meats are just phenomenal. The chef knows the right flavor pairings! I've gotten the oatmeal several times, always tasty and the right consistency. Oatmeal is slept on, glad to see some places still carry this breakfast powerhouse. The baked goods range from biscuit, croissant, breads to scones, cookies, muffins, and everything in between! Their quiches have seasonal ingredients so they change it up often, though a great quiche is too hard to resist!
I also recently started drinking coffee so I'm by no means an expert but from what I've tried, the cappuccino here is very tasty. Balanced flavor, not too bold.
Always a great experience here, from the food to the service. Don't expect something fancy but you can tell this place is teaming with love. Thank you for all the great brunch &...
Read moreMy wife cannot eat dairy. I discussed that with the woman who took my order. She suggested a sandwich with mozzarella and pesto, and said we could order it without the mozzarella. I specifically asked her if the pesto had dairy, and she said "It is fine. It does not have dairy"
My wife called them when I got home and they double checked then told us "yes, there is parmesan in pesto". So she drove back to Beth's to get a new sandwich.
Not only did they refuse to replace the sandwich, they lied to my wife and told her that I never told them that she couldn't have dairy.
When I called and spoke with Beth she was very condescending. She told me that I shouldn't expect her cashier to know what is in their food, and that I should have "asked the cooks myself". Although the woman taking my order had already been talking to them, evidently I should have intervened according to the owner.
I agree that I should probably know that there is dairy in pesto, but I think there are two more important points here
When someone serving food is asked directly if there is a specific allergen in the food they should not tell you it doesn't unless they are sure. That is the responsibility of the business selling the food.
Also, all they had to do was replace the sandwich with a dairy free one, and we would have been satisfied. Instead they lied and blamed the customer.
I have NEVER written a negative review in my life, but the way we were treated for simply wanting them to make good by their mistake...
Read moreBeth's Kitchen in lovely Bridgton,ME. Oh boy. This was one of the finest Cafe's I have ever been to. Nice setting, not too cluttered and beautiful artwork on the walls. Street view tables and in nicer weather, sidewalk tables. Met the owner and she was a personable and polite person. Her front on the house person was happy and positive making for excellent service.
Had a late breakfast with my mother and daughter. Two large pancakes with butter, syrup and a side of bacon for the little one. My mother and I had the Hash, 2 eggs, choice of toast and corned beef hash. I also enjoyed a side of Duck Bacon. It was very good. The hash came out with a surprise. Had onion, green pepper and I think carrot slivers mixed with fresh potatoes and strips of corned beef. Most certainly home made. It was heavenly. I also enjoyed a well poured and we'll made single espresso.
No real downsides to speak of. Prices are high for the area, but not high considering the quality, quantity and presentation. Extra dining upstairs, but no pictures of it. They even had highchairs for my little one.
This is a awesome choice for breakfast all-day, lunch, a place to study and have coffee or even a date spot. You are missing out if you pass Beth's Kitchen while in the area. An...
