Harbor Freight — Local services in Bristol

BE CAREFUL, I went and bought a paint sprayer from Harbor Freight and something happened and I had to return it. Wasn't even opened and they charged me $34 FOR A RESTOCKING FEE, YEAH THEY TOOK $34 OFF THE PRICE for just carrying it back and put it back on the shelf. Next, THEY WOULD NOT give me the rest of the money BACK ON MY DEBIT CARD OR CASH. They said without a receipt they had no idea which debit card was used, when I ONLY HAVE ONE!!! SO, THEY GAVE ME A GIFT CARD, TO MAKE ME SPEND THAT MONEY BACK IN THEIR STORE!!! I think it was WRONG for them to TAKE $34 for restocking fee, I think it's WRONG to NOT give me cash or credit back on my card. I guess I will have to go stand up there and get people as they go out and ask if they are paying cash (who does that) and pay for their stuff and get the money back that way. I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM ANOTHER DIME!! I WAS A GOOD CUSTOMER AND THEY JUST DON'T CARE!!! So, beware if you buy something and get in a jam and you have to return it. They will TAKE part of it and then give you a stupid gift card, SO YOU HAVE TO SPEND IT THERE. They took it so they knew I got it there but STILL WOULD NOT GIVE ME CASH OR CREDIT ON...

I've been having issues trying to purchase a band saw from Harbor freight for the past 3 months. Long story short,Bristol HF was supposed to be holding a bandsaw for me and I was going to receive 30% off. My wife drove there from Jonesborough because I was busy doing drywall and the cashier ( Renee) told her that she couldn't receive the 30% off because they were in a different district. Even though my wife showed her emails from the district manager to me saying that I would receive 30% off. What I don't understand is why Renee couldn't go out of her way to call the Johnson City store and resolve this problem. Instead she turns my wife away even though she had drove 40 + minutes to get there and gas is not cheap these days. I love Harbor freight but I'm going to stay far away...

Great availability on just about any kind of tool you can think of. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The tools they sell are probably better suited for people that will only use tools occasionally and not for professionals that depend on tools for everyday use. Prices are very good, and the selection is great. The store is easy to find and is just off Exit 5/I-81. I would have normally given a 4 star review, but the amount of time it takes to get through the checkout line is pathetically slow. They rarely, if ever, have all of the registers open and the fact they have to lookup ads, enter your phone number, etc... is something they need to fix. This is the only complaint that I have about the store. THE LENGTHY AND UNNECESSARY WAIT IN THE CHECKOUT LINE IS RIDICULOUS AND...
