I wasn't too happy with my last experience with BA lanes. We had 4 adults and a 4 year old child. We chose to do bumper bowling. I was the only one who had bowled before and knew what to do. The rest had to ask me what to do and we weren't told much or helped much by the front desk manager. They charged us 35$ for 1hour for a lane and immediately started counting once we paid them. This meant that we only had 40 minutes or less once everyone in our party finally had the right size shoes and balls. It also took a little time to setup the score menu, which nobody explained or helped with. We barely finished one game and the last bowler was cutoff on their last 10th frame ball. After bowling, we tried air hockey and some of the games. We reported to the teenagers , who were managing the gaming area, that one game didn't seem to award us the 150 tickets on the game with the pull lever. They seemed to ignore us and act like they couldn't do anything or like it was normal. They didn't respond at all to our clear and multiple complaints. We ended up only getting 80 tickets when we know we should've had about 230+. It seemed like multiple games cheated on the tickets. The general activities were fun overall, but the management and organization of everything left us with what felt like a mediocre or poor experience at best. It surely wasn't worth the money paid and I will not choose BA lanes anymore for bowling. At the least, they should've started the bowling clock AFTER the first ball was bowled. Tell people to rent shoes and pick their balls before you charge them for a lane. Rushing people who don't know any better is very poor service. And ffs, if someone spends $20+ on games and they say they were cheated 150 tickets, then give it to them. Loss of customer is much worse than loss of...
Read moreI've lived in BA for a little over two years and am kicking myself that only today discovered this place. IT. IS. AWESOME. Frankly, I was a little weary of going in, having had poor and over-priced experiences in bowling alleys in Illinois in recent years. But my son wanted to go bowl and we were having a father & son day, so off we went. And I can't say enough good about these lanes. First off, let me say that I used to bowl in leagues as a young man and used to have my own ball and my own shoes. I've bowled in dozens of alleys. So I know bowling. And as someone who know bowling, I'm happy to say that our hometown lanes in BA are well-kept, they have an excellent set of balls, the rental shoes are in good condition and slide properly, the staff is friendly, the scoring machines work properly, and the prices are very reasonable. The patrons follow bowlers' etiquette, too - which one doesn't see these days up in Chicago at open bowling. So three cheers for Broken Arrow Lanes! The only thing I can't vouch for is the grill & bar, as we went during the daytime. I can say that if you have kids, they'll enjoy the arcade after bowling or while you might be waiting for a lane. Great games, all kept in working order. As I began this review, I wish I had known about this...
Read moreBA Lanes is part of the Bartholomy Bowling Centers group, the same company that runs Riverlanes/Andy B's in Jenks. This is our family's preferred place for bowling and not just because we live within a mile of BA Lanes. This place is PACKED with leagues nearly every night and also has leagues and tournaments on the weekends, so if you're planning on going in the evenings a quick call for an open lane is recommended. All of the league playing provides some very well-kept lanes for bowling though and a LOT less carry down on the back of the lanes from house balls (unlike, a'hem---Riverlanes---which our family also loves). No, it isn't a new bowling facility like the one in Owasso but the ball return equipment and scoring computers are well kept and super easy to use. Some day they'll upgrade this alley (DO take some shoe protectors for the bathroom--'nuff said on that? The bathrooms are ROUGH---just sayin'), but I think that will be tough for them because it stays very busy most afternoons/evenings. There is a lounge for drafts/buckets too and the staff is super friendly. The pro shop (On The Ball) is quite good, but limited on hours of operation. Naturally, if you are in league, let 'em know because they offer...
