My family and I just got home yesterday from spending a week at Treeline Terrace. The Good: The cabin is really beautiful. It is set high up so it has a nice view of the surrounding cabins and area. Our favorite part was the amazing back deck, nice and roomy with gas fireplace and hot tub in front of the television so we could soak while watching football. Unlike other cabin companies we’ve used, this one was well stocked (toilet paper, trash bags, dish detergent, although there was not one box of Kleenex to be found). The cabin was very clean, and our kids loved the upstairs shuffleboard and video arcade machine.
The Bad: We had trouble reaching anyone at the office. I first tried weeks before our trip because I wanted to change the card on file from the deposit before the balance was charged. I tried calling multiple times, I emailed twice, and finally got a hold of someone through Facebook messenger. That person said someone would call after the weekend, but nobody did and I was charged on the original card. Then when we arrived we couldn’t find any paperwork about the wifi. I have four teenagers so wifi is everything with them, plus I had some games I’d prepared for Thanksgiving fun that needed it but all we could find was the router, but the password on there did not work. So we tried calling and left a voicemail, then tried Facebook since that worked before. Eventually we got back in the car and drove to the office address and were lucky enough to catch someone there. Unfortunately she and the other two people she called were not able to provide the wifi info so we didn’t have any. Another issue that could have been really bad… When we arrived, the cleaning staff were just leaving so they let us in, so after returning from dinner in town a couple of hours later is when we discovered that the door key code that was emailed to us with check-in instructions did not work. It was 8pm and dark outside, and we were all locked out. Luckily that time after leaving a voicemail, someone did return my call and provided a very different code which worked. The warnings: We had one family of two adults and a child cancel, so we ended up with four adults and four teenagers in what is advertised as a cabin for twelve. I think it’s important to note that six of the twelve spots to sleep in are in the open loft (four bunks and two trundles under the bunks). I’d hate to think of six couples thinking this is good choice. Also the three and a half baths is a little misleading. Typically a half bath means a toilet and sink, so when the website said, “ The half bath makes it easy to not disturb the master suites while entertaining in the loft,” we thought besides the bathroom attached to the one room upstairs, there would be another “half bath” (aka toilet) somewhere, since potentially upstairs is where eight of the twelve guests would sleep. Nope. The half bath is a vanity area that can be closed off from the toilet area. Another thing is the lighting. The loft area opens up to the living room/ kitchen area. The lighting for downstairs runs along the ceiling, so when I woke up and it was dark outside I could either turn on the lights and have it glaring right on my sons sleeping in the bunks or stay in the dark. There seems to be a light under the microwave for the stovetop but it didn’t work. The drawer in the kitchen that stores the trash can was cheaply put together & the back screws came undone so every time you pull out the drawer, the drawer comes crashing forward. The final warning is that unlike other places we’ve stayed where you could park in front or pull around back, the only option is parking in the front. Why does this matter… We were carrying in huge coolers with food for eight for a week plus all our luggage, games, etc. Our two options were up and down THIRTY STAIRS each way or up and down a steep incline of gravel to get to the back door. It was a LOT of work and not great for my father who has...
Read moreI have waited 2 months to post this review to make sure it is not near as emotionally charged as it would of been right after our stay. We booked the waterfall cabin for a 4 night stay for our wedding anniversary in June. When we arrived the first thing we noticed is the cabin isn’t near as secluded as the pictures made it seem as there were personal houses right next to the cabin. We were disappointed but ready to get our vacation started. We entered the cabin and noticed it was quite warm. The AC had been set to 61° but it was around 82-84° in the cabin around 6pm. There were 2 vents in the living room area that were open but no air was coming through at all. As we got to looking around the cabin we noticed there is no door from the bathroom to the bedroom area just a walk thru. There is also no shower which in hind sight I should have noticed from the pictures advertised on the website but I never once thought there wouldn’t be a shower. Since it was late in the evening on a Sunday night we decided to tough it out that night in a HOT cabin. We decided to check out the hot tub on the back deck and found the privacy screens were pretty torn up and damaged. To try to cool off We decided we would get in the jetted tub in the cabin. After sitting in the tub I looked around and found that every jet was disgusting with a mold and/or mildew looking substance in all of them. I got out of the gross tub and tried to dry our towels to find the dryer didn’t work. At this point I was so annoyed it had become almost comical at how much was going wrong. After eventually falling asleep very late into the night from being so hot I woke up the next morning to find the AC still was not working properly. I took a video of the outdoor AC unit to show the management company. The sounds it was making was not normal AC sounds. I had no signal at the cabin so I went to a coffee shop to call and report all of our issues. I started calling the management company with no luck getting ahold of anyone for over an hour calling at least 5 times. I then drove to their office and no one was there. I then returned to the coffee shop and decided to call a different company to see if they had any last minute rentals available. They offered me an excellent cabin with a $100 discount a night. We decided to take them up on that offer and paid over the phone. As soon as we got off the phone with that company we got a text from creative escapes saying maintenance was on the way. Maintenance arrived around 11-mind you a storm was coming in and it hadn’t got hot yet- said AC seems to be working fine I don’t know what you want me to do. Went to the dryer said oh yeah this one is messed up you just have to pull off the knob and turn the metal piece. As far as the moldy tub goes he said he would see if a cleaning crew could get it but it could be way later into that night before anyone would get there. The man informed me he is just the maintenance man and if I needed to talk to someone I needed to contact the office. I emailed them explaining everything that had happened and that we would be leaving the cabin and not staying another night. I requested a 75% refund as we had only stayed 1 of the 4 nights. To this day I still have not received any sort of communication back from them... if you are looking for a company to rent a cabin from we absolutely LOVED Beavers...

The Sleepy Hollow area sits less than 100 feet from the main (very busy) highway going through the area.
We rented a cabin in the Sleepy Hollow area, not knowing it was right off the highway. I guess you can say that was on us not validating where the cabin was located, but I can't see how they can honestly rent these out to folks at the prices they do. I've stayed at motels nicer (and cheaper) than these. @ $200 a night, we expected better accommodations.
Before I get into the bad, I'll add the good:
And now the not so good:
I don't know how their other properties are, but I definitely do not recommend staying in the Sleepy...
