Brook Park Recreation Center — Local services in Brook Park

Beautiful facility and very family friendly. We came as non-residents and first timers! My 3 yr old had a blast. Bummer the slide was shut down for the rest of the season, but I know time is limited now for summer. The only thing I'm disappointed in is i witnessed 2 different lifeguards, during the same 45 min block of active swimming, "slying" texting on their phones. Then one of them playing with their apple watch. Good thing im a helicopter parent, because if I looked away for 5 sec while their looking at their phone that could be an accident waiting to happen. Please do better with lifeguards cellphone policy. My child is more important then texting...

Almost got knocked over by kids running up and down the hallways I told them to stop and they just made a face and kept going there's no supervision I told the director. I also told the director that the door leading into the women's locker room is hard to open the handle hard to open and pull open and also when trying to get out I couldn't get out it sticks and I told him. I don't think anyone even goes in there I was always the only one. I hate to complain about my City Recreation Department but the floors are dirty filthy and it was cold upstairs walking on the track I was freezing I had to go and put my coat and my gloves on,...

Awful experience. This is the 1st time that my child played in the Brookpark rec basketball league. His coach and helper/assistant continually showed, let's call it "favoritism", to other kids on the team.

If my son or his friend did something out of line or bad in practice or a game, they were rightly punished. However, if the coach's favorites did the same or worse, which happened at least 3 times that I witnessed along with the coaches, nothing happened. No games missed, no segments taken away, nothing. And what did the head of the rec do when given this information? You guessed...
