DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My 1st encounter with Econo was in June. They couldn't come for 2 weeks but had great reviews, so I booked it. Their first visit they "diagnosed" the problem with my washing machine and ordered parts. After another 2 weeks, they came back with parts to install and told me to run the machine and let them know if it works. I asked if they could wait a few minutes while I ran it in case there was still a problem, and they wouldn't. Minutes after they leave, I had to call them as it still wouldn't work. We were charged for the visit & the parts. At this point, it had been a month without a washing machine. Then, I had to wait another 2 weeks to get them to come back. (Keep in mind, they give you a 4 hour window, so you have to take the day off.) Visit #2 was exactly the same. Brought the parts, installed them, wouldn't wait for me to run the cycle, washer didn't work again. All the while, they're telling me they know exactly what went wrong and exactly how to fix it. Next visit, also a disaster. At this point, it has been 2 months without a washing machine. To make matters worse the last time they were here they moved my unit and didn't push it all the way back, so I couldn't close my closet door (which is in a main hallway in my home.) I asked them to rectify that, and they said that was as far back as it could go. (It was obviously not because I closed my door just fine before they came.) They leave without checking to see if it works, again, despite my pleas to stay, it doesn't work. At this point I've been without a washer for 3 months, made to stay home multiple times, and lied to about their ability to help when they clearly had no clue what to do. That afternoon, I got a call from the office saying they could not fix my washer and they would give me a PARTIAL refund. I said I wanted a full refund because they did nothing but waste my time for MONTHS, and I was given an email address saying I had to take up any disputes there. My first email was September 2cnd. They didn't even respond to that Sept. 2cnd email until September 15th with, "It takes 7-10 days to review a file. We'll get back to you..." I responded to that email expressing that I wanted the hundreds of dollars I had given to them and would appreciate a quicker response time. I never received another email. So, I tried to call, but I got the answering machine. Every. Single. Time. It was very clear they were completely ignoring my number because when I was a paying customer, someone always picked up or called right back. It was impossible to get in touch with anyone... in any format. At some point in October, I saw that they applied the partial refund to my card, completely ignoring my request for a full refund. No phone call, no email, no contact whatsoever. Their ONE job was to provide a service. They could not provide said service. That's bad enough, but my breaking point was when customer service was absolutely appalling. 4+ months and a lot of money later, and I have to start all over again. I can't stress enough, do not use...
Read moreI wish I had checked Yelp where all the one star reviews for this company seem to be before giving this company a call. This company legitimately scammed me. Called them for a stove fan repair, provided the model number, motor serial number, and video prior to the appointment. Repair guy came over for five minutes and shook the fan a few times and confirmed the fan needed to be replaced, and then he took the same photos I did to make the appointment in the first place. He said they'd find a replacement motor, and if not, try to shim the fan to prevent the issues I was having. I called them a week later and they said they were still looking for the part. Followed up two weeks after that, voicemail. And every call and email since have not been returned. My guess is that they couldn't find that exact fan and don't want to honor the repair, so in essence, I paid $160 for someone to come to my house and take the same photos I took a week earlier. What makes it worse, is that on the phone and in person, their whole model is that you are playing an inflated price to book your consultation, but a sizeable portion of that amount can be deducted from the following repair. The issue is, if they completely ghost you, which seems to happen frequently according to these comments, you are essentially paying for a repair that never happens. Really poor way of...
Read moreDuring the past month, most of my appliances started having problems. Some due to the hard water in the area and others due to age and lack of maintenance on my part :( At first I was apprehensive about calling a repair person. I had had negative interactions with other such companies who charge just to come in for 5 minutes and say "You have to trash such and such and it's not worth fixing." The lady on the phone at Econo Appliance Repair in Danbury is very nice and honest. She did tell me that in all likelihood if my washing machine was over 5 years, it was not worth having to pay the initial fee for Econo to come out. But since it was only 3 years old it is worth trying to fix it. I agreed. Jorge was the first repair person who attended to the washing machine problem and he was thorough enough to notice the water lines that been blocked with minerals and needed to be changed. That fixed the long standing problem i had with low water pressure for a couple of years. I was so impressed with his work that I contacted them again to fix the dishwasher and the oven. This time Scott was sent to my rescue. He fixed both issues and gave me valuable information on the maintenance of my appliances. Both Scott and Jorge are very polite, professional and competent. I will gladly use them the next time an appliance needs some love and...
