Someone should review their hiring practices. The bakery section had a wonderfully helpful woman. However, it also had another woman working with her that lied straight to my face because she was clearly trying to get out of there. I pointed at, and asked, about another pastry as the first woman was bagging my order. The second employee told me that the item I pointed at wasn't the flavor I was asking about and proceeded to tell me they didn't have any of that flavor at all. The first employee comes back and tells me they were EXACTLY what I asked for.
I asked to exchange the item but, apparently, they couldn't because they'd already packaged it... That's not great, but understandable. However lying to someone's face to get out of work early when you're in customer service is not. I'll still give the location 3 stars because everyone else (excluding one cashier that seemed to needlessly criticize an older co-worker) was welcoming and friendly. I guess good help is getting harder to find. If anyone at the store reads this, please recognize and pass along my praise to the taller woman at the bakery, the female cashier, and the taller bag boy working Saturday night. They...
Read moreLOVE the unique, tasty, healthy, handy offerings at Trader Joe's and always have! Used to have to get things in Illinois and ECSTATIC that Wis now has a Trader Joe's both at Bay Shore and in Brookfield. Only suggestion - TURN DOWN THE MUSIC! The music is always CRANKED as if there's a MOSH PIT going on in Aisle 4!! When you enter at Brookfield, the music outside is just BLARING as you pick out a cart and enter. It's loud at both stores. And once inside, as much as I like to read ingredient labels and peruse the offerings, thinking of ideas of how to use Trader Joe's products now or in the future? The DECIBEL LEVEL gives me stimulus overload, DRIVES me OUT OF THE STORE! Don't know whether that's to keep the employees pumped during their shift or what?! But man, turn down the volume, that would be awesome next time....
Read moreLike Whole Foods, but better and locally owned. This is a one-off store from the typical Sendik's Market owned by one of the family members, so it has a bit of a different vibe. The pricing is hit or miss, tending to be on the higher side. The service was phenomenal, some of the best I have ever received at any grocer. The selection was perfect, more than enough, but not too much, and always someone around to help make a tough decision. The Deli and Produce are both fresh and fantastic and they offer a wonderful selection of quality meats, cheeses and craft beers, which is enough to make me return. When it's worth the extra money to get fresh or specialty foods, you can't really go wrong here, but probably not worth more than a 15 minute drive if you...
