A month or so ago I would have given three or four stars, but they have recently changed the pricing here, and it's WAY more expensive than it should be. Especially when you consider having to dig through bins that often contain some pretty nasty and dangerous surprises. (Actual things I've come across: apple core, half eaten package of sausage, half full juice box with straw inserted, FILTHY clothing that smelled of someone who hadn't showered for weeks, scarf covered in what looked and smelled like vomit, dirty diapers, shall I go on...?) Also, because shoes aren't paired, you have to really search for the other one and most of the time won't find it. Which means those perfectly good shoes go to waste since no one at Goodwill was instructed to pair them up. The wastefulness here is alarming in my opinion, since often glass, dishes, and other easily breakable items are just thrown into these bins and destroyed. I have often thought about people donating their well loved things here hoping for them to get a new life, not knowing how carelessly they will be treated and mostly likely broken. Which also means digging through bins can be very dangerous since there is broken glass and etc everywhere. Not to mention, doing a simple google search will reveal, āCEO and owner [of Goodwill] Mark Curran profitsĀ $2.3 millionĀ a year. Goodwill is a very catchy name for his business. You donate to his business and then he sells the items for profit.āFeb 28, 2018" So not only are all the items at this outlet donated, but they are also often items that come from the more organized Goodwill stores where things are tagged and hanging on racks. If they don't sell (often because they're overpriced) they are sent to a Goodwill outlet and thrown into a bin. When the pricing was reasonable, it made sense to shop here and put in all the work digging through thousands of often disgusting and always dangerous items to find the good stuff, but now...I'm not so sure. I used to spend $50 on a full cart of items I'd spent 4 hours digging for, now I spent about $90 for the same amount of things found in the same amount of time.
Greed is revolting. Especially when lurking behind the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love going here! But not many people do... Here's why: it's affectionately referred too by my friends as "The Dig". Everything is placed into big bins on wheels and you go in, take a cart, and literally start digging! You find something you potentially want and put it in your cart. Once you have a bunch of stuff on your cart, go through it, decide what you REALLY want, toss what you don't want back, and if you want to continue digging, go for it. They roll out new bins about every 20 minutes or so. And it's EXCITING!Stop digging when you like. The pricing is by the pound and per item. (Less than $1.50 on both- I can't recall right now!) 90% of the items are in excellent condition, and I've found tons of name brand clothing (I haven't really looked in the housewares or furniture yet, but I've heard of and seen some people get amazing items for SUPER cheap) I did find a gold and silver heart pendant with a diamond in it on a silver chain in a velvet bag hiding one of the clothing bins. You never know what will be in there! If you're looking for specific items or you want a quick shopping stop, this isn't your place. If you like the excitement of the unknown, go here. You won't be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove this Brooklyn Park bins thrift place! I'm sure other reviewers have said this, but you go, grab a cart as soon as you walk in, because you'll never find an empty card again! Also, keep an eye on your cart. People sometimes take things out when you're not looking. Some people stay there all day , because the bins of goodies, come out at various times during the day. There's a whole process to that. I don't participate in that kind of thing, I just like to browse in the bins that have already been gone through. I've taken more than 50 photos, but Google only allows me to share 50 photos here. Cashiers are super nice, and if you don't know what should be weighed or what doesn't get weighed, let them know ahead of time . I know they don't take American Express credit card. Their Furniture was Ultra cheap today, tuesday, june, 10, 2025. I mean there was like a nice white desk, for $2? A nice smelling leather couch, for $20, beautiful chairs for $2, another desk for $4. Just unbelievable prices! The parking lot is mostly full, but you can park anywhere you can find a spot I usually turn to the right when I go into the parking lot. Also, bring a reusable bag to put all...
