If you don't feel like reading a long, detailed review then I'll just say this. I have stayed at almost every Wyndham property in the metro and surrounding area. If asked what one I would recommend as the best, this would be the one.
The property itself feels new or recently renovated. It is well kept up and very inviting. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a bright, clean, aesthetically pleasing lobby with a beautiful chandelier. Front desk is prompt and helpful and check in has been a breeze every time. Bonus points for having a foosball table in the lobby for guests to enjoy. This is something unique to this property and I love the idea of having games like this on site.
Breakfast area is huge and has plenty of seating. It's been very busy every time I've been here and the breakfast staff are very good at keeping food stocked and fresh. They have a nice mix of hot and cold items and everything you expect from La Quintas. I appreciated that they were still bringing out hot food and keeping it stocked all the way until breakfast was over. So if you like to sleep in like me you will still be able to enjoy breakfast.
The rooms are wonderful. We have stayed in a standard king and also the one bedroom suite and both were clean, comfortable, modern, and had everything I needed.
We are diamond members and were lucky enough to be upgraded to the one bedroom suite and I have to say, I was so thrilled.
We originally booked for one night and ended up extending for 3 nights and they let us stay in our suite even when I used my rewards points to book the room. I can't tell you how much we appreciate that. We never go into a place expecting an upgrade but we always hope so. We enjoy staying at hotels and it always makes our day when we get acknowledged for our loyalty. We've had poor experiences at other hotels that treat you like a criminal for inquiring about upgrades or late check outs but not here. I applaud management for giving their staff the tools to provide excellent service at any time of the day.
The room was beautiful. It's connecting rooms that have an actual door to close in between as opposed to a half wall, open entry way, or some other semi private design. It's also not just two rooms full of extra furniture. In the bedroom the bed is cozy, soft, and so comfortable. You get like 5 big fluffy pillows and nice clean bedding. There is an armoire for hanging clothes, dresser, TV, and each room has a bathroom and shower along with the vanity area too. The showers are sleek and have great options for pressure and they are well ventilated. I don't know how many times I've been in a hotel bathroom with no fan which can be a recipe for disaster so I thought it was worth mentioning. They also don't have the silly mini travel toiletries and instead have the large refillable bottles in the shower which I always prefer. Towels were plush and we were given more than just one set which was great.
The living area consists of a pull out sofa, comfy chair with a foot rest, full desk and chair, refrigerator, microwave, bathroom, tv, and it's own entrance from the hallway. My husband wasn't feeling well when we were here and the extra room made our stay so much more comfortable
They also had really cool lamps that had several different lighting options. You could have low light or bright light depending on the switch and I found that such a nice surprise.
Thank you to Mahi, the front desk manager, for being so patient and kind while we figured out renewing our reservations using points and also for being so gracious when we checked out. Also big shout out to Bobbi at the front desk. She's always smiling and makes you feel welcome and we are always crossing our fingers that she is working when we get there. Bran the GM was professional, helpful, and clearly knows how to run a hotel. They should be acknowledged for understanding how good hospitality can make or break a guest's experience and we look forward to...
Read moreI have been a loyal LaQuinta rewards member and loyal customer for many years. I have refused to stay at any other hotel chain from coast to coast regardless if for business or pleasure.
After this weekend I am leaving them and headed to Best Western or Marriott courtyard or some other chain.
This place is a dump. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the "new" remodeled section and the work appears to have been done by kindergartners. Everything is slapped together with thumbtacks and glue. Half the outlets/lights don't work. Shoddy workmanship everywhere you look, whether paint, carpet, woodwork or hardware. Clearly the owner is using volunteer, illegal or basement bid labor to do the work. The rooms are tiny and the lighting is all cheap dim cold white bulbs. Zero warmth or cosy feeling coming from that. I guess they are going for the "metro" look or something but it feels like a hospital from 40 years ago.
Our reservation was for a king suite and they put us in a double queen. The sheets had "stains" on them from previous guest activity. The bed wasn't even made properly. No hot water, just warm water in the shower. The place is full of barking dogs and screaming children. We finally were able to move to the correct room in the middle of the night (what a pain in the rear) but once again found ourselves surrounded by rude loud people and had to resort to earplugs to get any sleep.
Fitness room has 1 treadmill that was "out of order". The other "machines" were so small and cheap they were of no use.
LaQuinta used to be that mid level offering that was truly a good value. I have all my employees stay with them when they travel. When I get back home we will be moving to something else for business and pleasure for both myself and my employees as they have clearly allowed their standards to sink to an unacceptable level with both their staff and accommodations. Well done La Quinta MSP...you just lost a lot of customers and thousands of $ per year.

Sorry buddy...everything I posted was correct. We were initially placed in the wrong room and would have been there for our entire stay if we had not called the front desk and asked to move because it was impossible to get any rest...at which point the front desk admitted we were in the wrong room and moved us...to a room where neither of the bedroom night stand lights would turn on, the bed sheets were short, the bathroom smelled of smoke, the outlets next to the couch were hanging out of the wall, the blinds were hanging off the rails, there was no curtain behind the drape...glad to we made it to the correct room but it was a far cry from what it should have been.
I suggest you go through every room and do a QC check to see if everything works and is in order...your contractor is taking advantage of you if you are paying for a...
Read moreUpdate: Wife had a very nice conversation with the manager, and she has contacted ada.gov and requested training material and information to better train and educate the employees and provide a better service for their disabled patrons. A win win for everybody! Super nice lady, very interested about it, and genuinely concerned. I appreciate that. A lot. I'm sure others will in the future as well. Thank you Manager person I cant remember your name, we thank you very much for caring.
Ok, disabled folks with service dogs ARE NOT required to sign a pet policy, as a service animal is NOT a pet. There is also no fee for a service animal. Dear manager please. Train employees on ADA law.
You may ask 2 questions only.
Is this a service animal (as if the big blue best with service animal patches all over it isn't obvious)
What is it task trained to do.
And that it ALL you may ask a disabled person with a service animal.
We sign no policy we pay no fee. Do you have a wheelchair policy or fee? No... You don't... A service animal is a wheelchair. Remember that.
And people with service animals, please stop signing pet policies, you do not have a pet! Your policy is the ADA law. I know you may not understand because of your disability, but please ask someone for help to explain I for you. You have ll of the info you need at ADA.GOV
Now on to the room. Reserved the room at around noon or so. It's 30 below out. You knew we were coming, I had a reservation. You couldn't have turned the heat on before we got here so we didn't freeze our butts off? The floor is all tile! It's 30 below the heat was off! Cmon now... The room is clean. The wall is purple, why is it purple? Cmon now. Hard NO! None of the light switches or covers were replaced in the remodel, I'm fact one of mine is broke. That's fine I don't have kids with me and I'm not going to go licking the wires so I'm fine but you better get it before somebody gets hurt. The doors are the same. The trim is still the old trim. But ya know what. If you can stay here on the cheap Yeah go ahead. It isn't as bad as it was last time we stayed. Man you should have read that review, it was a book long.
I have given them 2 stars because of not knowing about service animals. Lack of training. It's not her fault, she didn't know, and nobody ever refused to sign it before. I understand. So I did take away 1 star for that. I deducted 1 star for not having the common courtesy of turning the heat on when it's 30 below and you know I'm coming. I even told you what time and I was here. On time. So that took you from a 4 star review to a 2 star. I know this was long. But if you read it all. Congrats. Maybe you learned something...
