We had an amazing experience seeing the Saturday Musical Improv show at Buffalo Improv House!
The theatre and performance space is set up really well and the audience seats are very comfortable and not cramped.
They have beverages including beer for sale and it was easy to purchase tickets.
The performers were really funny and we enjoyed the show.
After the Saturday night show, they had a Live Piano Karaoke After-Party which was a blast. It was a really supportive environment to just get up and sing a favorite song. The pianist was amazing and knew so many crowd favorites from memory.
Parking is super easy on the street or in the lot across from the Great Arrow factory building.
Also a shout out for accessibility: there are no stairs at the entrance and the staff directed me to the elevator for access with my mobility device and they were super friendly and helpful - a flawless ADA access experience.
Overall a great night out enjoying the comedy and music scene in...
Read moreRegularly have improv nights Thurs-Sat, they have locals first and then a featured group do improv based on prompts from the audience. They have lessons for beginners and script writing classes according to what the director/owner guy said. I personally prefer the pace of the Buffalo State University's FNL improv group. They have different types of skits and 'words from a hat' that had words/phrases written by the audience. They continually ask for quick little inputs from the audience so you feel more part of the show. With this, they ask for stories on a theme from the audience, and then just run the show continuously based on the 3-4 long stories from the audience. There were a lot of laughs and lots of clever improv. I could never be so quick on my feet with repartee and miming and improv punchlines! Full admiration for...
Read moreI have taken classes with Buffalo Improv House for almost a year and they are amazing! The instructors are so supportive and helpful. The curriculum also helps grow your skills and prepare you for the performance that students do at the end of each class season. I have taken classes at another Buffalo improv company and they do not compare to Buffalo improv House. It's also nice because Buffalo Improv House has a variety of events you can attend as a student or even not as a student such as mixers, free intro classes, musical improv events with piano karaoke, confessions improv events and more. If you're looking to get into improv, this is such a great place to be. I've made so many wonderful...
