I've contemplated posting this review for More Than Diamonds, because in no way do I want to deter customers, but I would like to share my experience with this company and hopefully save someone else the headache we experienced. My fiance purchased my engagement ring from this business. He told the owner that he wanted a diamond without any imperfections visible to the human eye. The owner (Keith) ordered in diamonds and encouraged my fiance to purchase one of the stones in particular. He told my fiance that there were NO visible imperfections to the human eye in this particular diamond. After the engagement, I was admiring my new ring and noticed an extremely large black line through the diamond. Out of panic, I showed it to my fiance because I was so scared I had already chipped it!! We showed it to more and more people and everyone started seeing it. Then as I studied the diamond more and more, not one, not two, not three, but five very visible imperfections were spotted throughout the diamond. When looking at the diamond closely it looked like I had pepper all throughout the ring. We took it back to Keith to have him look at it and he confirmed the imperfections. I asked him about what he said to my fiance regarding there not being any imperfections and he denied ever saying that. We tried to amicably work things out, but I eventually couldn't handle how we were treated and just "sold" the diamond back to him. All in all we lost close to $700. I even had my father-in-law come with me to talk with Keith (since my fiance wasn't able to come that day) and we were treated with such disregard and treated as if the whole situation was a joke to him. For example, he pulled out a diamond he had in the show case and said something similar to "Find the imperfections in this stone..." I couldn't see any, so I said "I don't see any imperfections in this one...are there any?" With a patronizing attitude he said "I don't know...if you're so good at spotting imperfections you tell me.” I could list a dozen comments like this, but I'll end in here. The fact that the diamond had imperfections is not the reason for this review, but the way we were treated.
With all this being said, the gentlemen (Billy) who built my ring did an amazing job!!!! So while our experience with Keith and the diamond was an absolute NIGHTMARE, we...
Read moreWent to this shop a few weeks ago and was NOT impressed with the "service" I received. First, you have to ring the doorbell to get in, eventhough there were two employees there. Then I asked about having my father's college class ring repaired. I spoke with I guess the repair guy. He gave brief answers. Then I asked, since I was already there, about what it might cost to readjust my wedding band set. During our conversation, a heavy set, older guy with balding hair, came out from the back. I'm assuming he's the owner? He actually was being sarcastic in his comments to me. He said I was asking a lot of questions. To which I replied that I just want more information. He then tried to jokingly say "we don't charge for that". Meaning for all of the questions that I was asking. He even went further by saying they've never had someone ask so many questions. I felt this guy was very arrogant, rude, and talks to you like you're bothering them. I do not recommend this place. I will gladly pay more to a company with better service and drive out of my way based on this insulting experience. Customers have the right to ask as many questions as necessary in order to make an informed decision. Too snooty for my taste. They perfectly demonstrated why they don't deserve the opportunity to get my business. I would give Zero...
Read moreMore Than Diamonds has phenomenal customer service, a home town shop feel to it, and great prices. I went to Guvens after they quoted me half the price of MTD to clean my wedding ring. Upon arrival they said that since my ring has more than one band it would be more. Since they had quoted me one price I told them to honor it and they did. When I returned to pick it up the inner band was completely clouded and looked dirtier than when I brought it in. When I complained the gentleman said that he didn't have the right brushes to fit in between and to clean it properly. He did not offer to clean it correctly, you did not offer me a rain check for when he had the right tools, he was very matter-of-fact. I was thoroughly disappointed. I went back to More Than Diamonds and they made my ring look as good as new! Mason also did not have the right tools but he cleaned it and ordered the correct tools and had me come back to have it done properly a day later. They are friendly and professional. I highly recommend More...
