I tried this place because my wife, who is Mexican, said it is authentic. It definitely is authentic. However, of all authentic taco places I've had, this rates on the lower end. I didn't dislike the food, but I was underwhelmed by it. I had an Al Pastor (pineapple pork), a Carnita (pulled pork), and Lingua taco (cow tongue), and some chips and salsa.
The flavors in the tacos weren't balanced. There was probably about half the amount of meat in these tacos than your average taco. There was also only a pinch of onions and cilantro. The tortillas were good and homemade, but with the lack of meat and toppings, the majority of the flavor came from the tortilla. The meat was also dry, tasting like it had been just a tad overcooked. The biggest disappointment was the Al Pastor: I could not taste any pineapple. The Al Pastor was the only outright "bad" taco.
The chips were homemade, which I appreciate. They were overall pretty good, though the extra baked crunchy texture threw me off at first. Still not my favorite chips I've had just due to the texture. However, the salsas were spot on. The red salsa had a beautiful leading flavor of chile de arbol, which is one of my favorite chile peppers.
Overall: the tacos are a fair price. It was about $10 with tax for three tacos. I was left a little hungry after, though, and I don't have that big of a stomach. The tacos were okay. If they sold jars of salsa on its own, however, I would definitely buy some. This was my first time going, and I went at 7 pm, so it may have just been an off day. With the tacos being a low price and the other high reviews, it is worth trying to see if I just had an...

However, we had a craving for some tacos and ever since, we came back approximately 3 times (it would've been more if I didn't have to work 48 hours a week). I live very far from this place as it takes me 30 to 40 minutes, but since my girlfriend is also around the area, it's so worth to visit here.
My recommendation? Definitely! Definitely try out the quesadilla with lengua (beef tongue). It blew my mind away that the meat itself taste like the meat used in my culture in a Vietnamese cuisine in a beef-noodle dish called "Pho." Definitely try the tacos too! They have the regular taco with just cilantro, onion, and a choice of meat, but the real killer here is the super taco. This is a big , loaded taco of goodness. It's about a dollar more for it but I'd take it.
The people? Monika or Monica (I'm so sorry if she read this) is extremely attentive and communicative with her team to expedite the orders. Every time I spoke to her (about 4 separate days in different weeks), she is without a doubt, super kind and nice. From the phone, to the in-person interaction, and the service she provides, it's all consistent and...
Read moreThis place is amazing!! We came once when they first opened and I opted to come back once they finally got their footing here in the community!
I must say this place does Mexican good well. I had the breakfast ham and eggs this time around and it was great. Rice was soft and flavorful and the beans were the perfect consistency. I purchased 2 tamales to take home and omg you need to have one or six!! The masa to meat ratio is perfect. The chicken with green salsa was perfect, chicken was juicy. The pork tamale has a little kick but the meat tasted juicy and fresh. Sooooo hard to find a good tamale out here and this place has them!
The biggest thing that stood out to me was the service I received. The lady at the counter was sweet and caring. She worked with me on not having any dairy on my food, she talked to me about the different sauces, and made sure my tamales were ready for me when I was done eating. I love service like this and I pray they stay in business...
