Still searching for our go-to Chinese place in or around 30045! Pretty decent place. Good menu. The food still is not our favorite but we would go back if nothing else appealed to us. We ordered: egg rolls, wonton soup, tempura shrimp, hot and sour soup, moo goo gai pan and orange flavored chicken. The sauces on the entrees were thin and not enough . I would definitely order double the sauce or I'd make my own, but why, when you order some? I prefer enough sauce to go on the rice. MY moo goo sauce has chicken broth, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions and corn starch for thickening but normally the velveting process of the chicken thickens the broth nicely. The sauce from here tasted more like just chicken broth. I added 3 pkgs of soy sauce and it added the much needed flavor. The chicken was plentiful! The veggies were fresh as expected so no complaints there! I asked for no mushrooms or baby corn so mine came with bok choy (needed more), brocolli, carrots, snow peas and water chestnuts. All my favorite! The wonton soup was not like one I'd ever seen before. 3 wontons and mixed in was shredded chicken and an assortment of vegetables. It was nice but not the kind I'm looking for when I don't feel good just the soup broth and wontons please. But otherwise it was great. The hot and sour soup was again too thin, we're used to seeing it thicker, also not sour enough nor spicy! We added some more rice wine vinegar and a touch of hot sauce and it was much better. The egg rolls were hard to tell what was in them but I'm thinking mostly cabbage, sprouts and some carrot, not sure if there was a protein in there. The contents looked to have been run through a food processor first and then filled, looked a bit ominous. Again really no flavor by itself added soy and duck sauce to open up the flavor. They were okay like that. The sauce on the orange flavored chicken again was very thin. Not sure what the difference was between the orange chicken and orange flavored chicken was... usually the battered and fried chicken thickens the sauce... The fried rice was nothing to rave about either just plain rice and some egg and the rice was not crispy at all. I want to see my rice with fried egg, green peas, a pinch of carrots, sprouts and onions and lots of crispy peices of rice! The tempura shrimp was good. We had to throw them in our hot air fryer to crisp them back up but that is to be expected when food is packaged fresh and hot! The fried stuff tends to get steamed and needs a little crisping. No big deal! Over all not bad food and maybe our second favorite but still not meeting our search for our favorite! I'd say we'll go back and try some different things but on the whole we'll...
Read moreCold food, Lies, says what ever to get you off the phone. 1-10-2020 I ordered delivery and was told it would take about fifty minutes no problem. I ordered at 6:20 PM finally at about 7:45 I called to check on delivery, I was told the deliveries had been mixed and I stated that I didn't want cold food. The girl on phone kept asking the manager what to do, finally she said she would need to call me back. When she called back she said I could cancel order or they would make new food and bring it in about ten minutes. Finally at 8:05 the food arrived, I ask the delivery man had the order been redone and was it fresh, he said yes (my mistake not checking food before man left). When we opened the food it was all cold and obviously we had received the food from 6:20. I called restaurant and told girl they had not remade order and food was cold, she tried to reassure it had been remade (not) I then ask for the manager and after A pause she said she had just stepped out, i ask for her to have manage call me. The manager did call back, said her name was Mandy and I explained to her what had happened (like she didn't know she had made all the decisions) she said the food had not been remade and the reason was it was out for delivery. I could write three more pages about how she didn't take care of the problem, I ask for the owners name and number, she refused (I asked four times) then she suggested I go elsewhere. I called the next day and was told that Mandy is the owner, I...
Read moreVisited Sun Garden for the first time today. Imagine my surprise to see that I had the entire restaurant to myself! There was literally no one else there...
That probably should've been my first clue!
I dined in.
This server who appeared to be the wife of the owner came over to take my order, very promptly. My food was delivered very promptly. Nothing extraordinary about the food it was your average Hunan chicken. There was a particular almost sour taste to the chicken however. I hope it has nothing to do with the fact that now I see that this restaurant has an 86 food rating! I hope it was actually chicken that I was eating! Lol (I think!)
But anyway, remember I mentioned I was the only one in the restaurant... However the server never came back to check on me. I had to literally get up and find someone to ask them for duck sauce for my eggroll.
Eggroll = duck sauce! (In my mind at least!) When I asked for duck sauce, she looked at me as if I had two heads! She said you want the duck sauce packets? (Insert much attitude here!)
I said yes if that's all you have. She disappeared and came back a few minutes later with like 10 packs of duck sauce. Lady I seriously only had one eggroll... Sorry I set you off by asking for Duck Sauce!
A lot of attitude plus a less than average meal equals me never returning!
There you go, problem solve... Keep your...
