Moved back to Seattle after 20 years in Washington DC. Used a high-end downtown DC salon where I was charged exorbitant prices by a top stylist who never listened or cared what I wanted. Worried I w/not find the right stylist for me in SEA/Burien area.
I found Trina at Nine Cuts Salon in Dec2022 & so glad I did! I have been a regular customer ever since. Trina is expert with coloring & highlighting my long hair w/gray & dark which requires multiple processes for color & highlighting; I trust her techniques. She listens to what I want & I leave Nine Cuts happy & feeling great about my hair and my look.....every time! I also treat myself to Trina's amazing hairwash a couple of times a month, combined with a nice blowout.
Trina is great at managing her own & other stylists' schedules. Often1-2 people arrive for appts and/or walk-ins; occasionally she & another stylist will dry my thick, long hair together....love it! Saves me time, dries more quickly for styling & I'm out the door.
I've noticed Trina's other skilled stylists/barbers do simple haircuts, but more often intricate styles w/several lengths. While doing that, they may also have another customer in-process for highlights/color, on various lengths/types of hair.
If you are looking for a hidden jewel of a salon with owner & stylists who welcome everyone, listen to your requests whatever your style, AND deliver an excellent product while providing outstanding service, Nine Cuts is the...
Read moreWas recommended by a neighbor(and didn't realize I also drive past all the time), will be my first time going here since I am new to the area, so I'm looking forward to trying them out to see if they will be my new go-to. I will update after this evening, super excited....I desperately need a haircut and a local salon!
UPDATE: RECOMMEND This Salon 🥰
Loved it! Was super nervous as I haven't had my haircut for a long long while or cut by someone other than my other stylist for the last few years....but Michell worked with me and I went with her suggestion of what needed cut off and cut off a lot because of split ends...but my hair looks healthy and manageable! Love the cut and totally recommend!!
So even though my fear of haircuts is still something I dread so much(I'm blaming this on childhood trauma of my Dad chopping my hair to a bowl cut, to numerous times of unblended chops/layers and other couple times of getting layers that went so far back I damn near had a mullet!)....I think I can relax a bit next time :) I'm not afraid to fly planes and million other things, but Good Lord, getting a haircut is what I imagine it's like for some people who fear going to the dentist. So I am super glad I came here and I am super pleased with...
Read moreI went in today to have my hair fixed after a previous salon colored it poorly a few months back. I tried to be as clear as possible that I wanted the rest of my hair to match my natural color at the roots. I said I didn't want bleach but was told there was no way to fix it without bleach (my natural hair is dirty blonde and the color on my ends were lighter then my roots and very yellow/orange) and the stylist told me that my hair would turn out too dark if she didn't bleach. We ended up going with the bleach cause, as I said before, I wanted to match it as evenly as possible. She then proceeded to bleach the ends of my hair, put silver hair dye in it, and not even get rid of all of the orange. So I'm left with orange/silver/dirty blonde hair. I do not recommend this place at all. I think the stylist was Trina, but I can't be too sure. All I wanted was my natural color back and she proceeded to one, tell me that the color I ended up with after she colored it, matched my roots (not at all the case) and then got upset with me when I asked why my...
