Couldnât post first half of story. Too long. We were the only customers left at the salon, the store has been closed for over 40 minutes and they had just finished my kids hair. Fanta is gone, but everyone else is still there. My oldest was just getting out of the chair when I arrived. I had the money for both daughters in each hand. I immediately gave my oldest the money to pay her lady. Then I see my youngest child and her hair isnât finished. I kept showing the Hairbraiders in the shop the difference between what I asked and what I got. They told me that they canât curl her ends because she has human hair. I told them who told me they could, the on who did the other kid & she admitted it. At some point there were about ten women surrounding me, yelling at me in their language. They tried to convince me that they told me that 1. asked for boxed braids for my youngest and the picture and my words and my text messages clearly showed otherwise which I proved to them. Then they told me that they couldnât curl her hair because they couldnât put her human hair in hot water or it would burn. I told them that I know you canât put real hair in scolding water, but there are other ways to curl it. They told me they didnât know of any other ways. During my entire debacle the âladiesâ were âmanagingâ the exit as if I would run⌠Ugh. I asked them how is it that I know you can take some styling gel, preferably Eco and not their cheap dollar store knockoffs that they get, then put some rollers in it and put them under a dryer. Wallah⌠now you have curls. Mind you all the ladies are still yelling at me. After about 15 minutes one demands that my daughter come back to the chair and says I will put these rollers in. The rollers in a filthy basket and were disgusting and had other peopleâs hair in them. I told her absolutely not! I told her I donât even use their nasty combs. We bring our own and if they have to wash her hair, we bring our own shampoo and hair products from a professional salon, unlike this one. She then calls the owner on the phone and demands that I speak with her. The owner is aggressive and yelling. She then tells me they will take my daughters braids all out. I said no. Fanta then mentions cameras to me. she mentions the cameras to me as if I were a thief. I told her the nerve of her. I always pay her, for two years. I told her I am not a thief and that I had no intentions of leaving without paying her. I have been here being attacked for over 35 minutes. There are only two African women left, still yelling at me and being aggressive as if they wanted to fight. So I called the cops. It took about 30 mins. During the wait, they got the MAN of the shop on the phone. All you hear is the Man owner of the shop yelling, âHello? Hello? Hello!?â I told my husband not to say a word. The lady then tries to bring me the phone and I again asked her if she was crazy. She just ignored me so I told her that I wasnât going to speak with anyone else just to continue to get disrespected.I tell the first cop what happens. I also tell him that I have also been RECORDING everything on my phone and have texts and pics. I show him my evidence. He agrees with me. Then Fanta arrives and talks to the cop outside. The second cop arrives and I tell him the same stuff and show him the same evidence. He also agrees with me. He goes out to talk to the owner with the other cop. Within five minutes the first cop is back. He tells me that Fanta says that I am a long time customer and she doesnât want to lose me as a customer and my youngest daughterâs hair would be free. I told the cop I didnât want a freebie, I just wanted my daughterâs hair fixed. Fanta then entered the store, and said NOTHING. She just scolded me with her eyes as if she hated me. Refusing the free svc from her, my youngest daughterâs hair was $130, so I would pay myself $20 of the $130 since I had to finish it at home.When we were leaving we noticed that Fanta had blocked our car in so we couldnât leave. Iâve came here to get my hair done multiple times With my two daughters my first daughter she literally saw when she was first born she is now two years old turning three and I also have a one year-old. Itâs usually a great service from her but For some reason this time around it was different. I came to get a sew in with a little bit of leave out at the top. The sew in was very thin and I didnât like it and I voiced that. She proceeded to ask me if I wanted to put jam on it Instead of doing her job and fixing it. She was very disrespectful to me When all I wanted was her to make my hair look better than what it was if Iâm spending money on your service It needs to be done correctly . I had to go home buy clip ins to put in MYSELF to make it look full and not thin I had to flat iron it MYSELF Because once again she DIDNT do that . mind you this is a A jet black STRAIGHT sew in Why would you not flat Iron it? Why am I paying you just for me to go home and do the service Myself? I made sure to voice the fact that my BOYFRIEND was gonna be PAYING for my hair he works in Everett so it is a bit of a drive to White center from Everett. She kept asking me if I was gonna pay, mind you like I said I already told her that my boyfriend was gonna pay that we just had to wait for him to come from work and Iâve also got my hair done by her so so many times And paid for it so why wouldnât I pay? She was very rude to me, she kept blocking the door as if I was trying to leave, which I clearly wasnât. when my boyfriend got there she proceeded to Park her car behind him, blocking him from leaving as if we were trying to run out. she looked very STUPID doing this because he literally came in to pay like I told her he was going to do multiple times. So yes, I did snap a little bit, but I had every right to considering that my hair wasnât done the way I wanted it to be while also facing disrespect. I would say I understand her being concerned about me paying but I wasnât because like I said, Iâve gotten my hair done by her before & PAYED for it. I told her I was going to write a bad review about the experience I had and then she threatened to call CPS on my two daughters, and like I said in the beginning, she met my first daughter when she was first born she is now two years old and Iâve been coming here for this long Paying for every single service Sheâs given me. Mind you she has kids of her own, so why would you even threaten this? Threatening to call CPS on my kids That are WELL taken care of and have a wonderful support system because I told you I was gonna write a bad review about your horrible service is completely OUT OF LINE and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, Her husband even apologized for her behavior, which tells you a lot . If she wasnât able to do a sew in correctly, she should have used her voice and let me know that and I would have went somewhere else to Get it done . I will never come back to this place and I hope none of you wonderful ladies have to go through this with this bitter woman if you decide to come get your hair done by her, maybe she should just stick to braids, sew ins are definitely not her thing apparently. I got there and she Asked to see the hair. I showed it to her. She started grumbling and saying itâs not afro kinky. I have used this hair before and it certainly was. She said it was not the right hair. I told her it was the hair I wanted. She told ne she has the right hair, again I said this was what I wanted.
Now this is where greed entered the chat. I kept waiting. I asked when my braid would start and she begrudgingly told me the person that is to braid my hair went to walmart and she would be back soon. I was not happy but I said ok. I asked a few more times and she just said she would be there âsoonâ. Then she says again to look at the braiding hair, complains itâs too âsoftâ hence the price has changed. It was no longer $250, now $400. I asked why she had me wait an hr 10mins before telling me that? Especially when I have not changed my specifications at all. She muttered something under her breath and then went âok fine $250 thenâ
An hour and 10minutes pass and finally the braider arrives. She looks at me and says âwhat is the problem?â. Odd start, i say well Im just waiting to do my hair. This woman then tells me for the size I want it will be $550. I was shocked. Irritated. Angry at their obvious coercive tactics. They wasted my time and had me spend money and cancel appointments to make it there, perhaps hoping that I will succumb because of sunk cost.
Again I asked why? Why wasnât I informed beforehand and why wait over an hr to tell me the new price? They start speaking to each other and sneering at me. I did not understand them so I can only infer. I closed my laptop and said I wasnât paying that price and that this was nasty behavior.
One of the women told me to âleave my shopâ as she saw me gathering my braids and getting my bag.
The store was empty apart from one customer. They are terrible people and Iâm not surprised their reviews are so bad. I will make sure to tell everyone I know about this shop. They treated me with such contempt and a disgusting level of unprofessionalism. They use conman tactics to reengineer their pricing when you get there....
