As I don't have any gripes with this place, but haven't made any purchases as of yet, they get 3 stars for now.
This place looks more like a warehouse as far as furniture stores go from the outside, however I was actually very surprised to walk in and see that it has more of a "real" furniture store feel. The layout of the store is separated by room, and they sell everything from massive entertainment stand furniture, down to picture frames and runners for dining room tables. This really is a lovely store. A lot of the furniture seems to have somewhat of a trendy, current feel (distressed woods, burlap-py stuff, faded pastels etc) however, by no means does this encompass the entire store. I also like the pricing on everything in the store... meaning they'll display market value vs whatever price you'd pay for the same piece elsewhere supposedly. Not sure how accurate, but at least it makes you feel as if you're getting a deal right...?
Wasn't really sure how you would go about making a purchase had we attempted to do so. It's not a pressure sales environment, thus nobody approached us at any time while browsing... however, this also means it wasn't the best customer service environment , thus nobody approached us at any time while browsing. Not even a hello, welcome or if you need anything, my name is____ let me know. There was what appeared to be a main purchasing/ordering desk perhaps, and also an island with some sales reps behind that desk as well. There does seem to be something at most price points for anybody... but also be sure to check out the clearance room in the back right corner.
All in all, decent store for the drive out to Calera. Nothing bad, nothing...
Read moreI would not recommend anyone purchasing from Alabama Furniture Market. We spend $1,2000 on a couch in December of 2018 AND paid money for the extended warranty. By December of 2019 the couch began losing its shape. The foam in both recliners drooped to the floor and our 1 year old couch looked to be 10 years old. I contacted Alabama Furniture Market and they sent another piece of foam and instructed us on how to replace the old piece. While we did this, it was weeks later that the new foam did the same thing. Alabama Furniture Market sent someone to our home to see what they could do. The solution was that they brought batting and re-stuffed the cushions. They left batting with us telling us just to keep re-stuffing. Long story short, no one will do anything for us now saying that the manufacture's warranty has expired, even though we reported this prior to the warranty expiring, and in good faith, continued to work with them on correcting the issue. We also bought the extended warranty so we went that route. When the extended warranty was sold to us they verbally tell you that they will make good with any issues of the couch. Of course, the extended warranty will not cover anything so we may as well have thrown our money out the window. I try to support local businesses but I will never buy anything from this place again AND I would recommend you reconsidering. They don't stand behind what they say or...
Read moreWe purchased a sofa and ottoman cocktail table. We chose to receive the pick up discount. We had use of a friend's truck for one day. After unwrapping the sofa at home we discovered a very large L-shaped rip in the back of the sofa. I called immediately as they were about to close and was told by Megan that it was the last sofa but there should be another one coming in tomorrow. We wouldn't have use of the truck so I asked that they deliver it. They would but they would have to charge me a delivery fee. I feel that this is unfair since we did our part and made the effort to pick it up originally. There was no budging on her part. It took 5 days for the this company to bring us a new sofa. They promised us a delivery time between 2:00 and 4:30. It was after 7PM when they arrived. While waiting all day for the sofa I called the company several times to find out about the delay. I also inquired again about having to pay the delivery fee after all that we went through. The owner called me back but again she would not budge. She said many times that she was sorry. My thought is, if she is really sorry, she will make this right. I guess she would prefer to have $51.90 (delivery price) than a 5 star review, which I would have given had they waived the delivery fee. I gave them 2 stars because they do have...
