I was having difficulty getting into my email account. It wasn't a problem with a computer, but more so with Microsoft, as I tried accessing my email from several different devices without success. I went to this business and they indicated that they could get me access, though in fairness they didn't guarantee anything. I left my computer with them to make sure that access would be established on my machine and not just their computer(s).I was told it would probably be the next day, so I left and headed home. However, before leaving I had to ask the young lady behind the counter if she needed the email address that I wasn't able to access. She hadn't asked for that or a password. I didn't understand how they fix the problem without even knowing the email address. I was bit concerned at that point, but thought it just slipped her mind....not a big deal. A short time later they called me and said it was indeed a Microsoft issue and they couldn't help me for whatever reason. I thanked them and said I would be back the following day to pick up my laptop. I arrived to day to get my laptop and was told I owed them $85.00. I was a bit surprised and not too happy considering they spent next to no time and accomplished nothing, but I figured even though it was high, there would be some sort if minimum charge and I should have asked since I wasn't told. I handed the gal a credit card for payment at which time she notified me that there would be an additional charge for using a card. I told her "no". I told her I would pay the 85.00 but not a dime more. She handed me my card back and said I would need to come back with cash or a check. I told her I would but that I lived approximately 30 minutes away and it would have to be the next time I came to town. She said fine. A short time later I received a call from a gentleman ( I use the term loosely). He was ranting and raving and calling me a thief. I explained that I offered payment of the $85.00 service charge but was never told of any credit card charges. I explained that the payment I offered was refused and that I would pay as agreed to with his employee. He continued to rant about the $3.40 credit charge and threatened to call the police....which he did. I ended paying the $85.00 that I agreed to pay initially, but not the additional amount they tried to sneak in after the fact and was trying to gouge me for. On top of all that, when I got home this morning, my neighbors high school son was pulling in his driveway. I asked him about my email issue. He went into his house, sat down at his computer and had me back in my email in less than 15 minutes. That included the time it took him to make himself a cup of coffee.
One other concerning thing happened. When I was providing payment information over the phone to the ranting, raving gentleman, he attempted to extract personal information from me that wasn't required for payment. At first he insisted it was required, but when I refused, he backed down and only received what was required. This was even more concerning considering he previously had one of his employees call to try and get the same information, for no apparent...
Read moreAnywhere else I have EVER went to expects you to pay high prices for mediocre (at best) service. PSC Computers is different. The prices are fairly generated (don't expect high quality with low price tags) and customer service is top notch. I have had computer issues late at night ( I'm a college student) and have been able to shoot a text to the owner with an immediate response and solution (at no charge) and the last time I came in to purchase a USB, I overheard how a woman had lost photos of her deceased husband on her laptop. The owner said he would work night and day to recover. I recently read a review that they did recover those photos. Amazing service and incredible commitment to their customers. They NEVER do anything without first consulting with you to discuss options and pricing.
This place far exceeds any other computer...
