My eight-year-old has taken the Basic Drawing and Painting Class here for several months and looks forward to it each week! She loves that they explore a different medium each week and complete a project start-to-finish in every class. I have been awed by the quality of her work! The class is drop-in, which is very convenient if we occasionally have something else going on. We looked at 2 other studios in the area and this was the most affordably priced. Class instruction is more focused on the whole group, as opposed to individual feedback. The owner, Sharon, is a very accomplished artist with extensive teaching experience. She teaches some of the classes, but my daughter's class is taught by a graduate student in art therapy. Some of the other classes are taught by high school students who have taken extensive art classes at the studio.
One thing I wish were different is the bathroom situation. The available bathroom is common to the entire building, is publicly accessible, and usually not well-traffiked. From a child-safety perspective, I prefer that young children do not use publicly accessible restrooms alone. I wish that, instead, the bathroom were inside the studio and only accessible to...
