This place and this company should be ashamed of themselves and should be put in a class action lawsuit for what they do to students and their parents. My son was living at CEV Canyon while going to school and playing baseball. They started pressuring him and other residents to sign new leases 2 months after they moved in under the threat of raising the lease amount for the next year. Reluctantly my son signed the new lease fearing that he would not be able to afford the increase in the lease amount. I did not sign a new cosinger lease agreement. In the middle of April my son decided he did not want to play baseball anymore and return to Oklahoma to finish his degree. He notified the front office and corporate people in writing and emails that he had to move back to Oklahoma and live at home since he would not have a baseball scholarship to help financially. Not one person on the corporate level ever returned multiple phone calls, emails or letters. The onsite manager told him not to worry about it that he understood and everything would be alright. Those are famous last words!!! After finals my son cleaned his apartment from top to bottom probably like it had never been cleaned before and definitely cleaner than when we moved him in. He even borrowed his mothers steam cleaner the last time he was home and steam cleaned all the carpets. 6 months later my son gets a phone call from a collection agency saying that they had been sending him letters and he needed to talk to his dad because if we did not pay $5,600.00 today that they were going to put this on his and my credit report. He said I have not received any letters from you guys or CEV they said oh yes we have been sending them to your apartment at CEV for months. He said well I do not live there and have not for 6 months. I live in Oklahoma now which you should know because CEV knows this and on the lease agreement contains my home address, telephone #, email, my dads telephone # and email. They said oh we are sorry but this needs to be paid today. So being one that likes and needs my good credit score I paid them $5,600.00 on the phone for nothing. My son was not living there, the apartment was left in better shape then when he moved in and I would almost guarantee you that they had the apartment leased out for the whole time. I could have paid for a whole semester of college where he goes now for the same amount. This is disgusting and at some point karma will get them for being evil and screwing kids and their parents out of hard earned money that could have been used to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. This place is truly horrible. I have had bad experience after bad experience here. The managers change every 6 months. They lie and just try to steal your money in any way. If you donāt have a roommate in mind, highly do not recommend living here. They poorly match you. I asked for a safe environment due to COVID and got a trash student who was a nurse and partied constantly and was in a sorority- my roommate and the apartment did not take my safety into considerations. Before my roommate moved in, I was told I wouldnāt get a roommate until August 20th (move in day), that was a lie. She moved in July 1st. She kept putting in work orders, so they kept calling me saying that I was doing that- when I asked when that occurred they said, āOh back in March.ā They will lie to your face, directly. If you have to deal with management at all, ask for everything in written copy. The roommate I have pretty much said that she went into my room to shower because hers wasnāt working, and the office knew and was okay with it. There are better options elsewhere in canyon or Amarillo. This place was the worst. I got emails about renewals- like 5 times a month. I even emailed management and corporate to stop. They continue to harass about renewals despite my emails. For your money and mental health- donāt live here. The only reason I stayed a year and a half is because my Masterās program is 15 months. I didnāt want to move for only 4 months in the middle of a pandemic. I definitely should have. The most recent thing: I have sent my renters insurance in every month. Iāve done everything they asked of me. I got a bill saying that Iām charged because I donāt have renterās insurance. They will truly charge you for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere comes a time in life when a parent has to come to realization that their child will move on and out of the home. If that means college for them that in time will lead to living on or off campus. A parent can read reviews and drive by apartments where they think their child will find the right fit. In my recent experience you have to actually take the time and meet the staff that manage those facilities. After doing just that with a few places...my only decision was CEV. The reasons for me were abundantly clear. I toured the facility with the Assistant Manager Kristen Bunn. There are very few times that I meet someone who knows exactly how to do their job and they don't treat it like work. Kristen was professional both in appearance and the way she presented CEV. When you make a big decision such as this...what a huge relief to come across is someone like her. All the worries of making this transition instantly dissipated. Needless to say our decision was simple and we will be signing a lease with a smile on our faces. I am not sure how long Kristen has been with your company, the way she presents herself and the facility you would think she build and designed it all herself. Such pride in her work, top notch excellent person to deal with. I don't know who gets to read my long winded review within your company...having run my own company for many years-I would recommend a promotion or at the least a bonus of some fashion. People that truly treat their job with such passion truly deserve to be recognized and rewarded. You have a true Gem at CEV! We are so happy and excited with our choice!!...
