Carbondale Family Health Center — Local services in Carbondale

I switched over to this center after seeing Maggie in the Honesdale location for years. Maggie was incredible and took all of my concerns seriously. I moved and was closer to this location so I thought it would make my life a little easier. I saw Shannon here and she has absolutely no bedside manner and hardly spends any time with her patients nor takes their concerns seriously. I am currently out of state on vacation and have strep throat—I KNOW it is strep throat because some family we recently saw tested positive for it. I called Shannon to see if she could send a prescription for an antibiotic down to Florida and she suggested I go to urgent care or an ER (because “it might be the flu”—it’s not). I have been in the car for a combined 18 hours and still have 6 hours to go with an autistic toddler. We are not familiar with the healthcare systems in Florida and if it was truly the flu there is no way to treat it anyway so it would be a massive waste of time since I only have 2 days there with my family. Thanks for nothing. I’ll take the extra 34 minute drive and go back to Maggie, who has been more than helpful in situations like this in the past.

editing to add that it is already 2:30 PM on good friday, many urgent cares in the south will be closed and god knows how long I’ll wait in an ER. just to get an antibiotic for something I’m already sure I have—absolutely ridiculous. guess I’ll enjoy being sick...

Dr luma gaslights his patients and downplays our worries about our child he's always right your always wrong and he's quick to make a blame and say your neglecting your child when your with your child 24/7 said our child was failure to thrive and then lied about our son getting DNA testing at birth when we are with our child and would have information about that I wouldn't recommend anybody who wants the right care for their child to this doctor unless you wanna get gaslighted and have your worries downplayed and disregarded go see a real doctor so you can get real diagnosis for your child I'd make this a zero star if I could Edited and because we dropped him as a doctor cause he can't do his job he called cps on us on top of that because we decided to go to another doctor UPDATE doctor said our child was never failure to thrive and is reaching all milestones. Please choose another doctor if you value your health...

I've been coming here for years when Kenny was here he was great. Do not go to Casey cuz she doesn't know what she's doing she's a new doctor she didn't even feel my hernia she said it was from my hematomas from me giving my blood thinner shots.. and Sharon proceeded to say oh she'll get the hang of being my doctor .. with my condition I don't have time for anybody to get the hang of being my doctor so I just didn't feel safe anymore. How does one doctor see a hernia when I'm going to lay back on the table and my primary doesn't that doesn't make no sense.. so be aware the doctors aren't the same anymore just be careful. I've been complaining for months that I haven't felt right and they just do blood work and say you're fine you're fine and I haven't been fine because I actually had a stroke I had four strokes in...
