Carbondale YMCA — Local services in Carbondale

Great facility with wonderful staff. Our daughter had a Sunday basketball party for 10-12 kids in July of 2016. We were warmly welcomed to the YMCA upon entry and given a quick breakdown of who/what/where/when.

While there was a small misunderstanding with how long we'd have an attendant on the court, the YMCA were incredibly great about having that individual return. Aside from that one small misunderstanding, the party went smoothly. The 'coach' was great with the kids and kept them engaged. The pizza that was provided was decent and the classroom used for pizza/cake/presents was clean.

Very easy transaction and all-around delightful experience. My daughter and her friends are excited to GO BACK next year for a party. Thanks team Carbondale YMCA for the outstanding party. Highly recommend...

Indoor pool with a slide, multiple gyms for basketball and weight training. BEAUTIFUL FACILITY. 4 stars because of staff.. horribly lazy and unreasonable. Been a member of the Y for numerous years and my family, multi numerous, but they still insist on checking my membership card, online membership and calling to the YMCA I originally subscribed to EVERY TIME. I understand it's for safety but it usually takes 20 + minutes and by the time they are done hassling me and whoever I'm with, I have no urge to work out. Please find some kind of method to cross-check names with the entire YMCA system and this major problem would disappear. There is no such thing as greeting. And not acknowledging clients and customers coming in. It was very cluttered when you walk in as well. I am aware they are doing some sort of rafel baskets but even with then not there it was cluttered and very dreary. I am not a fan of the daycare being right in the front and the glass there the way it is for everyone random person to pass by n stare at your kids in there like they are puppies in the window, is what it seemed to me. It made me feel very uneasy and uncomfortable. However they did have a nice waiting area and I have not been able to experience evert aspect of the place. So i will update my review as I go there more. Hopefully it was just a bad first...
