Carrboro Plaza — Local services in Carrboro

Have patronized a number of places in Carrboro Plaza Our new vet is located there. The three vets and vet techs we met treated our kitties very well. There are separate entrances for dogs and cats, much easier on the cats.😁 Close to the vet is a good Chinese restaurant, China Wok as well as as a sushi restaurant. The sushi was fine. I don't eat sushi but the other person does. The Chinese food is excellent. They have a BBQ spare rib recipe that I loved as a teenager in Massachusetts. This is the first place in the south that makes ribs "MY WAY" The DMV license plate office is located between the vet and Food Lion. Clean building, friendly and helpful folks, especially since I forgot to take care of registering my car in.....2017! The Food Lion is enormous, looks brand new, brightly lit, had everything I needed and was easier to get around than the Greensboro street Harris Teeter(sorry, HT, but it's not easy to get around). The produce department's offerings were splendid. Since I buy a lot of fresh veggies, that was very important. It's a family oriented store rather than catering more to student single can servings. There's an Asian market next to Food Lion. That's a better place to get Chinese, Thai, Japanese, etc ingredients than any American supermarket. Overall, it's a nice...

Good shopping plaza, pretty good location, town busses run to and from here for folks that don't drive. There's many shops, my favorites are Dollar General, Best Beauty with a great selection of hair care, make up and jewelry, the Panaderia which is the best place in town to get cakes and pastries I highly recommend their Tres Leches cakes, Anna Maria's restaurant serves pizzas by the slice or by the pie along with plenty of other appetizers sandwiches pastas salads and desserts, there's a Chinese restaurant here too that's excellent and Food Lion grocery store which has the best prices on food as well as a rewards program that usually gives back around $20 a month, if you buy the qualifying items. There's many other shops, restaurants and quite a few banks in the plaza too. The DMV and NC license plate registration place is here too. My only complaints are that it's really spread out so walking from the DMV to Food Lion is at least a 10 to 15 min walk so it's kind of hard to do shopping from shop to shop without having to drop off bags at your car also it's kind of on the outskirts of town which isn't a deal breaker but it's not as centrally located to our side of town. I love the real diversity of businesses offered in just one place. Fast food, 6 different international kinds of food (Chinese, sushi, panadería, wings, pizza, AWESOME Mexican), a grocery store if you don’t want to buy premade, gas station, cigarette shop, liquor store… Heck you can even renew your license plate or drivers license while you wait for your yummy lunch to be prepared somewhere. There are also helpful money stuff. A bank, credit union, a free-standing ATM, and even a place that helps prepare your taxes (though I’ve never seen a living being in there). There is a family run pharmacy where they are super nice, and you could probably help them out a lot if you just move your prescriptions over to there, and well, yeah.
