Had some repairs done on my 18 wheeler after a break down near the area. I want to be fair in my review, so I will list both the pros and cons based on my experience.
Pro's Originally, I had roadside service dispatched and the repair guy made it within 3 hours. It took him less than 5 minutes to realize the issue required us to order the part. Our insurance Progressive could not find a tow provider so we the repair guy recommended someone who came right out. Upon our vehicle being towed in the shop, they allowed us to place our truck in the inside of bay so my driver could sleep inside of truck and not be cold (unable to crank truck due to low coolant issue). The next morning, they promptly ordered the two DEF lines needed for the repair and started on my vehicle abouy 2 hours after the parts arrive. Now to the conns.
Conn's
The mechanic was young and VERY SLOW. He had to call throughout each step to get help and walked away several times during the job to increase the labor cost. We had to have 2 lines repaired and was quoted 2 hours by other shops but the job took 4 1/2 hours there. The shop was only 15 miles away from there but they charged us 2 1/2 hours for labor plus 142 miles ( basically an extra $500 and wasnt there 5 minutes). We wouldnt have known about these charges as they tried to get us to pay without sending an invoice! Red flaggggggg! Once I got the invoice and prior tp paying I disputed the roadside charge and was lied to saying they charge for the time it takes for him to get tools and round trip back to shop. Again we were less than 15 mile away? How does that equate to 142 miles either way? 15+15 is 30 miles and even if he had to down an exit, there is no way it equaled to 142 miles. So for him to basically load his tools and come 15 miles down the road, stay 5 minutes, that was 142 miles and 2 1/2 hours of labor. We were running behind on a load and they knew we were in a rush, so we paid after they refused to change the roadside charges. It's crazy the amount of places that take advantage of trucking companies when they couldnt get the goods or parts needed for their place of business. Its...
Read moreThis review is about the shop,I went in on Saturday 7/26/25 @ 4:15 p.m. there was a very attentive, kind and friendly young lady, she reminded me of what Petro/TA used to be like, the techician was just as good, listened to and addressed my concerns,he even went above his job, explained an issue that he saw that I will need to address in the near future...I was so happy with how these two people made me feel so good, and respected, after the fiasco in Walton,Ky a week ago, this was wonderful experience, with people like this I can see customers coming back to TA shop, total of my bill $1,889.78,but the feeling of knowing I was in good, caring hands was priceless. Come to think of it,I was here a year ago and it was also a good experience, not like today thougn. Thank you beautiful counter girl that I didn t get your name, and the friendly technician Rickey Voiles, you both made mine a better day. PS: shop is short staffed right now,so the wait can be a little longer than normal, they will tell you so ahead of time,I waited 4 hrs to get in shop and about 3 hours of labor, oil change, new brakes on front axle, one steer tire,a brake chamber,ALL GOOD. Update: people do make the difference,I cameback to shop Monday at 11:00 a.m. neither the tech nor the gentle lady were here, let s just say,it is a poorly run, poorly staffed shop, to me it looks like an untrained, unexperienced kid was running the front counter...I waited an hour and a half,I decided to leave, this was a job that they needed to finish bc tgey didn t have the part Saturday, but I didn t expect such incompetence after my experience then. I can say,it s a hit and miss, you may get the trained people or you may get the opposite. I ll take back the...
Read moreGood food, clean, plenty of parking, nice employees, simply put I would say overall this is probably one of the best truck stops that I have ever been too. I have been here several times and every single time the experience is the same period I have not yet experienced i- person that works here. I'm sure that there are some but I haven't met them. So my hat's off to the management team for finding the right people in this area to work in that always have a smile on their face it seem to be happy to see us every time we come. I mean that I have been to some truck stops including Travel America truck stops that I would never go back to this is not one of them. This is a great truck stop because of management. Including the service department that service department is fast overall Fair and easy to work with. The last time that I was up there I had to get a DOT inspection done on my truck and they were competent and the inspector did an outstanding job finding issues with my truck that I was not aware of. It cost me some money because I had to get it fixed but they gave me a great deal on my drive tire so I replaced all of them. There's only one other truck stop that I have been to myself out of the big truck stops like loves Pilot Flying J or Petro where the people are as nice as they are here and that is on 20 a Love's truck stop just west of I'm sorry east of Dallas, we're really it is just the people in the McDonald's that are so nice but this truck stop seems to have the whole package period again is clean the people are great I mean really it's a good atmosphere. It's a Ruff Life out here on the road so it is nice when you find some place that you would join going....
