Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Caryville

Came for an early dinner recently. Service was a bit slow, no one was at the front register. Two kitchen employees were visible, one was scooping rice and the other was stirring the fryer with a whisk while cussing at it. Not uncommon for a Popeyes, so I was okay with it. About 6 or 7 minutes later, the front register guy emerged from the back and apologized for the wait. He advised he was on the phone with his boss because one of their employees was, and I quote, "tripping balls" and he needed to get that sorted. Fair enough. I asked him if he had to send the employee home, and he gestured to the angry fryer whisker who is now walking around the back without purpose as said employee and it all suddenly made sense. Despite the enormous amount of red flags presented at this point, I had been wanting Popeyes since I had been driving from Kentucky and this was the first one I came across, so I opted to still order food. Great decision. My 5 piece tender platter was out in 5 minutes or less and it was probably the best Popeyes I have ever had. Overall, unusual but not uncommon experience for what I expect at a Popeyes and the food was delicious. 10/7 stars. Probably gonna eat there again on the way back through to...

I ordered a 12 piece chicken nugget and when I received i just got tiny pellet sized nuggets. They were so small I actually counted them and I got up to 5 but then I started counting the small pieces that didn’t even have chicken in it and then it added up to 12. I was disappointed on how this turned out, and on top of it I found this yellowish greenish stuff inside my nugget and it looked very weird. The soda machine was also very sloppy. I was getting my soda when a stream of water started to pour on my hand and I was getting water for my brother when Hawaiian Punch started to get mixed in with our water so his water was red. The customer service was meh because we ordered 3 medium sized sodas and when we payed for it, the guy didn’t even give us our cups. We had to end up asking another person to get it for us. Stopped here on the 8th of August like we do every time we go to the smokies. Was our favorite location.we went in and started to order or chicken strip 14 piece family meal was told we don't have a family meal with 14 piece. But we know they did because we got it at least five times this year . was told you can only get a 6 piece meal . but if you want you can buy 14 piece for $40 chicken only not a meal.we said he'll no the meal just a month ago was like$20.so they then go telling us that the family meal was getting replace with the chickennuggets. Those nuggets taste nothing like Popeyes chicken strip they are a shotty replacement.don't wast you time stopping in save your money and find something else anything else. If you haven't figured it out we are done with Popeyes .stop trying to pass those shotty nuggets and bring back family...
