Branch & Barrel Distilling — Local services in Centennial

Mitch, Cassie, and Kimber (the dog) showed us the best time at Branch & Barrel. So much so that we returned a couple of days later with the rest of our traveling party! I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a fan of bourbon, but when my partner asked to add this to our itinerary, I thought I'd be open and give it an honest try. While I still don't think a bourbon neat is for me, I do think this is a really special spot and a great stop-off when you're passing through Centennial. Mitch and his drinks are thoughtful, fun, adventurous and there's something on their menu for everyone. I had the Campfire Peach Old Fashioned which was smoky, subtle, and smooth and the PB&J Sour which was complicated, a little sweet, and surprising. I also had a taste (or two or three) of the Ube B Baby and I would highly recommend that for someone who usually orders cocktails and likes them on the sweeter side. Great ube flavor and overall really fun. I also rolled for an old fashioned, because where else could you find something unique like that? They have a stunning list of options and I couldn't resist leaving a drink up to fate! Lastly, I cannot forget to mention the Gold Rush that Mitch made for my partner. That was genuinely one of the BEST drinks I've ever had. Overall, a fantastic place with fantastic hosts, and a true commitment to staying local; I hope to make it back...

Fun experience at the Sunday 8/13 bottling event. If you sign up it’s a lot of work but fun. My only critique was the Eventbrite tickets say that you can choose what bottle of whiskey you leave with after the bottling session. I was expecting a full 750ml bottle since small bottles are not available to buy normally. Instead everyone left with a 375ml bottle of the single barrel. I am sure I am not the only one who was a bit disappointed and surprised that they couldn’t pick out their favorite variety and that it wasn’t a 750ml bottle. The people at my station were talking about what variety they were going to choose as we sampled. I would recommend updating the event description so everyone who signs up knows what they are leaving with. I appreciated the samples and the crew made the event fun. If it’s a matter of cost giving everyone a full 750ml bottle, then it would be better to limit the events to...

You heard it here first, B&B's is the best dang whisky i've ever had! At first smell its a pleasant mix of fruity sweetness, vanilla custard, oak, and banana. It’s intensity is of velvet quality you just keep wanting more and more, yet still has a air of shyness to it and its complexities remind you of Japanese whisky. Apricot and corn provide an additional layer of nuance and heavenly delight! After that first sip you are overwhelmed by a rush of corn and banana pie upfront that’s followed by sugary blend of vanilla and almond.
