The staff is the reason I feel this park could easily be 5 star⦠As the parkās overall population grows I also acknowledge the fact they have many factors playing against them which as a community, some of those could be delt with but leave that to voters to learn. šOther factors like Hess opening up more and more and the creek itself being thinned to its extent, may be more challenging to overcome. I will always for my own reasons, find this place near and dear as atleast for now, it is another somewhere for us⦠ans is no joke and if the water is low now imagine if they really let things happen that, could be detrimental⦠locals know exactly, and others⦠know nothing of what Iām talking about but letās start the talk on keeping this place around. But the rangers and the, guys and ladies at boat check in have been good to me and my dogs, so I can say thank you guys for that! And thanks Ranger Will, I appreciate your help and am glad yāall were helpful and receptive with my boat ramp fiasco. Goes to show from sunglasses to you know what anything can fall off a boaterās utility belt or down an ice hole⦠atleast of the 2 items only my sunglasses remain a lost treasure in the depths! Lol but seriously you guys are cool in my book!!! Canāt wait to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat area, beautiful park year round. You can icefish, or jetski or boat, jog, walk or run around. Yaht club. Sandy beaches. West side for some reason is getting shoveled regularly dont know why. It was all construction couple years ago, then bushes and plants just staryed to reappear and they leveled everything again. On south side they cut A LOT OF TREES for no apparent reason. Looks very empy and trees were not on the way or something. I have lived in the area for over 15 years and all was great they were not bothering anyone but 2022 whole fields appear shaved and trees were like 10, 15 or more inches that got cut. Less shade which we truly need in summer time and less hideouts for deer and wild life. I just dont understand what has changed. I rather let it be the way it is, epecially if none of that was anywhere near the trail and did not obstruct anything. P.S. Wanted to add... in the past w years i saw a DRAMATIC waternlevel drop.... i am talking about 10-15 foot of water just gone. There are islands now and yaht club is like waay off the wayer while before water was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt would have been nice to have been warned before entering the park that toxic algae was present in the lake. Why is the water not closed to swimming? Swim at your own risk ?!? I would not have paid to get in if I had known beforehand. I even asked the pay attendant before entering, is there was a swim beach there. Her reply was, " yes, there's a swim beach, or you can swim wherever you want to" To my surprise, after parking and walking by the water, I saw the signs warning patrons of the toxic algae. Apparently, it's not safe for your dog to swim in and don't drink it! If my dog can't go in the water, I'm sure as hell not! But that didn't stop people from swimming, the water was packed!!! Maybe they didn't see the signs since, in my opinion, there was not enough of. I feel lucky to have seen the few I did so I wouldn't make the mistake of putting my...
