Love Cherry Creek Dam, one of the best state parks to visit. I was there an hour before sunset on a Sunday and it was very peaceful. The Smoky Hill Shelters are on the east side or the reservoir just off shore. There are 5 shelters witch equals10 picnic tables one on each side of a shelter kind of like a divider and one double grill. Restrooms are close and I saw electrical outlets. It's been years since I'd been to this area. From this view you can see all the way across the water to the dam wall. The shore was very clean of debris witch is just down from the shelter, would be a nice walk. The mountains look beautiful from this view especially at sunset. The bout ramps and docks are just west up from the shelters. There is also a pull off area about a mile before the shelters heading west to bird watch. That evening there seemed to be thousands of birds eating bugs off the foliage. There's a few placards at the spot explaining the birds to look for and other interesting information. I posted video of the birds we saw. Just to get away and listen to the water was all anyone needs before the grind of the work week.

Fairly clean public area. The only thing that would have made it better is if there would have been toilet paper in the restrooms for the children. It's absolutely beautiful out here nice to allow children just to run around.

Caught a picture of the rowing team while out on Smokey Hill. This has an excellent morning view, place to walk your dog, and place to get pictures along the water. Beautiful and comfortable.

Staging area for the Cherry Creek time trial. Parking area is pretty run down and shelters are ragged looking. Restrooms are okay and the views are great. It seems our state parks could...
