I recently performed with my band at the Carroll County Fairgrounds and it was an unforgettable experience, and not just for the music. The scorching heat that day turned our set into a test of endurance, but it only added to the excitement and camaraderie of the event.
As soon as we arrived, it was clear that the weather would be a challenge. The sun blazed down relentlessly, making it feel like we were in a giant oven. The heat didn’t just affect the performers; the audience was also visibly uncomfortable, though they stayed enthusiastic and engaged throughout. The combination of high temperatures and high energy made for a truly memorable performance.
One of the highlights of the day was definitely Landon, our snare drummer. In a spontaneous and hilarious turn of events, Landon decided to get his head shaved right before our set. The decision was made in good fun, and watching him transform from a full head of hair to a clean-shaven dome was a source of endless amusement for the band. His new look became an instant hit, with everyone, including the audience, getting a good laugh out of it. It was a perfect example of how unexpected moments can make an event even more special.
On the logistical side of things, the food at the fairgrounds was quite expensive. While we anticipated a bit of a markup, the high prices were still a bit of a shock. Nonetheless, the food vendors offered a variety of options, and we managed to find some decent eats to keep us fueled for our performance.
Despite the heat and the pricey food, the day was a resounding success. The band played with great energy and enthusiasm, and the audience’s response was fantastic. The experience, with its mix of challenges and humorous moments, was well worth it. The fairgrounds provided a vibrant setting for our music, and we left feeling accomplished and exhilarated.
Overall, I’d rate our experience at the Carroll County Fairgrounds a solid 5/5 stars. The combination of the weather, Landon’s hilarious head shave, and the lively atmosphere made for a day we won’t soon forget. It was a perfect example of how sometimes the toughest conditions can lead to the best stories and the most memorable...
Read moreI sent my son to the fair yesterday Wednesday July 19th for the first time. His wrist band came apart shorty after he arrived. When he addressed the fair board about the issue they decided to fix it with tape, which of course didn't last. While holding it together and trying to get on the Ferris Wheel, he asked the operator of the ride what he should do about his wrist band. She took it out of his hands said "well no more rides for you" and threw it in the trash. He decided to go back to the fair board and tell them what happened. They told him he had to buy a new pass. Now it has cost him $20 dollars to attend this fair, which in my opinion is definitely not worth it. Today I decided to address the situation myself. I walked down to the fairgrounds with my son and spoke to the gentleman in charge of the fair about the issue, unfortunately I don't have his name. In many meaningless words he told me there was nothing that could be done. So my family and I are out $10 because a judemental unprofessional Ferris Wheel operator decided to throw away my son's wristband. My parents taught my to do the right thing in life, always. It's pretty sad at my young age of 37 I act and do more mature things than individuals who are older than me. I shake my head at you Carroll County Fair, shame on you for not reading this situation better that you should have,...
Read moreI would give it a negative star if i could we took our 1yr old grandson to this fair and at the gate we bought our bracelets but was told he didn't need one. So we walked around spent 50.00 dollars on food and stuff then when the rides opened we took our grandson over to the kids corner so he could ride rides. Well the first ride he just barely passed the height requirements to get on it she let him on then when he got off she had a fit he didn't have a band for rides so she went and got this other lady as we were trying to find another ride that he could get on this other lady came over with a attitude and yelling at us that he needed a band to ride on the rides after we had been told he was free and didn't need a wristband. Well I'm not paying full price for a band when they only have 2 rides for him to ride and she could have pulled us to the side and spoke to us instead of yelling at us and...
