We couldn't be more pleased with our relationship with Danny and Karen Umali and where our son finished up in his college quest! It has been over a year of work with them through their high school to college financial planning program and they and their program have made a daunting new experience for us not only easier, but much more positive, efficient and worthwhile for our son. From the beginning program to help him understand himself, his career choices and his education choices, Danny guided us all through how and when to do each step, including saving for the tuition in the most relevant way. My wife and I hold graduate professional degrees and were worried about the process and the fact that we wouldn't be able to get any financial aid for our son. Again, Danny and his associates had a plan for us which has really worked. All said and done, the package fees he charges were well worth the money in the scholarship awards we received and the time we saved navigating uncharted waters for us in this complex college world.
Our son has an excellent academic record, including excellent grades and test scores in many AP classes and a high score on his SAT the first time he took it. Game Theory College Planners helped him study for the SAT, helped him with writing his application essay, find himself both socially and for career interests through included testing programs and then helped us narrow down a select group of schools that he would not only be interested in, yet excel in. One of their biggest tenants is to not only enjoy your school learning what you wish to study, but to do so in a very efficient manner to reduce the cost and time commitment. We were so proud of our son when he got into 9 of his 10 private school picks, all with incredible merit scholarships to the point of having to really decide between offers.
Danny's team kept in constant contact, offered relevant and timely monthly online interactive courses in addition to all of the things available to their clients already and did the lion's share of the admissions and administrative work which is remarkable for 10 private schools. Their evaluation helpers and vast information on the schools narrowed our visitations and final pick lists and even helped win our son additional merit aid from his number one selection.
Our son is currently admitted and looking forward to an excellent, highly rated national private school education which is not only affordable due to his generous scholarship, yet totally within a realm of achievement which will get him into graduate school or his choice of careers with greater preparation. Danny has us on a path to be able to pay off the rest of his college costs by the time he graduates in four years and we couldn't be happier.
Please speak with Danny and consider all that they have to offer your son or daughter throughout this process; their help and direction has been amazing and first class and so much more inclusive than we ever thought it would need to be. They have really thought this through professionally and we will always be indebted to them for helping our son realize his dream. We will be back when our younger son applies to...
Read moreWe were introduced to Danny Umali and Game Theory two years ago when our nephew was going into his junior year of High School. We had no idea that there were college planners and didn’t know what they could do for us. Our situation was not typical as we were legal guardians for our nephew. When we met with Danny, he was able to explain to us that our nephew would be classified as an independent student in the world of FAFSA and receiving grants and loans. He showed us examples of what his program and team could do for us.
Having signed up with Game Theory before his junior year gave us the time to really utilize the total program and the team. Game Theory helped our child understand and explore the academic majors that were out there. They also helped determine which test he should take, ACT or SAT. The program included a great ACT prep class. He followed Danny’s advice and he was able to raise his ACT composite score by 5 points. Once we had the test scores, and other information, then we could start to find colleges that would be a good fit. This was my favorite part of the program as the software guided us towards a list of schools that he could get into, along with other parameters such as graduation rate and financial need met. The result was a list of universities that he applied to and visited. He selected a small private liberal arts college located 750 miles away that wasn’t even on our radar. The Game Theory team had monthly emails and Webinars to keep us on track. They were able to answer complicated questions, which helped us with all the additional paperwork needed for an independent student. Once the award letters started to come in, they were able to evaluate them for us. Danny also has a unique approach to using social media within the college selection process.
I would highly recommend Danny Umali and Game Theory if your child is open to exploring private college and Universities. If your child is set on going to a state or public university, then you are not going to get as much out of the Game Theory program. We were open to any option, Private or Public, which would be a good fit for him, and also wouldn’t break the bank. The program is not cheap, but we definitely recouped...
Read moreI am a graduating highschool senior who had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Umali and having him guide me through the college planning process.
We first encountered Mr. Umali as he was presenting a free information session at a local public library. The presentation alone was enlightening, and I would encourage anyone who is interested in these services to attend such a session if one is available.
Mr. Umali and his team have databases and algorithms that can analyze a prospective student critically. They process every relevant statistic like GPA, test scores, extracurricular merit, financial standings, and personal preferences to generate a list of ideal colleges. The program gave me access to an ACT test prep service that brought my final ACT score up to a 29, a score I would have been unlikely to achieve otherwise. The advisement is totally evidence based, a quality I greatly appreciate.
Through the service, we discovered that I was qualified for universities I would never have thought I would have a chance at. Before having gone through the advisement process, I would have made some very expensive mistakes and ultimately ended up with a lower quality education.
It is difficult to stress how important it is to have a guiding hand in the college process. Mr. Umali will provide data inaccessible to the average person, and offer evidence-proven ways to avoid financially dooming pitfalls the average person might make.
To say that the service pays for itself is an understatement. My family and I will save several thousands of dollars having made informed decisions. I could not be happier with the service and the university I've decided on, a decision that would have never been considered without Mr....
