Food Lion — Local services in Chesapeake

This place is the best super market in the area. Fresh fruits and vegetables, a good bakery and butcher. The wine selection is not the best but I believe that there is something here for everyone. They also have a good selection of products made from turkey meat. I didn't know that was a hard thing to find until I came to Norfolk. There's a good assortment of healthy and not so healthy snacks too. The prices are great, the hours are even better. If you look live in the South Norfolk area this is the supermarket that you need to shop at. The reason that I gave this store five stars is that I am comparing it to the supermarkets in upstate NY. I just want to take a moment and thank two of Food Lion's employees Megan Ownley and Erik Lewis for going above and beyond their daily work duties when I approached the store at around 0925 with a lost dog asking to use a cell phone to contact Animal control to help find his owner. They went straight to work, making phone calls for me to help in this situation; Mr. Lewis even took it apon himself to buy the dog food because he said he looked hungry. Shortly after, a Chesapeake police officer arrived on scene and I then turned the dog over to the officer. My last trip to this store wasnt very enjoyable when There was a lady sitting by the door eating and I suppose it was her boyfriend or husband asking people if he could buy their groceries for cash. Then as I was leaving the same woman started hacking and coughing and she wasnt wearing a mask.
