Before working with Devin, I had been a bridesmaid in a handful of weddings in the recent years so needless to say I knew what kind of photographer I wanted to work with and style of photos I wanted to avoid. Trying to find a photographer that didn’t shoot what I would consider “typical” looking wedding photos is no easy feat and I am so thankful we found Devin!!!

To start, Devin is incredibly hands on and takes the time to get to know her couples which I think is very apparent by looking through her portfolio. It was so apparent to me that she did this just by looking at her work and without even speaking with her. I booked my consultation call with her before officially booking her for our wedding but I knew I was going to book her before we spoke just from seeing her work…after speaking with Devin, I knew she was the perfect person to shoot our day!

And then covid happened….BUT unlike most brides who had a hard time replanning through all of that, we had the exact opposite experience! Devin was so incredibly flexible with us as the world was so uncertain in the early days. We postponed our wedding a few months before and replanned it for Sept 2021 and while that was not as chaotic to replan, finding a time to shoot our engagement photos was a trip, but Devin was so understanding and flexible as we had to reschedule our engagement shoot more than 4 times and wound up doing it a month before our wedding. Side note - highly recommend doing something like this if you’re worried about the day of…having just “practiced” our posing the month before for the engagement photos was very helpful for the day of! Devin was able to quickly edit our engagement photos so we had them before our wedding and she absolutely crushed them! The engagement photos and wedding photos are truly works of art that I cannot wait to get professionally printed and hung up! In my opinion, Devin’s photos deserve to get attention constantly and not just something in an album!

The day of the wedding, Devin and her team made taking photos SO MUCH FUN. Having been a bridesmaid so many times, I know how long and painful this can be but to quote my bridal party after we finished photos “that was it, were done??” because that's how seamless and easy Devin makes it!! The team effortlessly fit photos into the day vs making the day all about photos. Looking at our photos was like reliving the whole day but also got to see so many other parts of the day captured that as the bride I wasn’t able to be part of.

Now for the photos….first of all, after shooting our wedding and pretty sure many other weddings the days leading up to our wedding (Devin is superwoman!) She provided us with 30 preview photos to look through the very next day and from chatting with couples on our honeymoon that we went on immediately after the wedding, so many of them were envious of how many previews we received and how gorgeous they were!! Devin took my vision and must haves and executed them flawlessly. Our photos truly capture the energy and emotions of the day without anything looking too stiff or posey. My husband and I immediately shared our gallery of photos after receiving it and all of our friends and family were blown away with the beauty Devin captured but most importantly the fun and love of the day. We have so many special memories and are beyond lucky to have had such a thoughtful and caring photographer capture the most important moments and day of our life. You can truly tell that Devin cares so much about her couples and really tries to capture the moments that a bride and groom will want to relive for so many years to come. I came across Devin’s work one night while doing a deep dive search on my venue, and found a blog post she had done for a previous client. I was instantly obsessed with her photography style and the way she seemed so connected to her clients. I spent time going through her portfolio and other blog posts on her online site which provides a fantastic amount of information until I couldn’t hold back any more and emailed her! Thankfully I didn’t have to wait long to hear back and the response time was impeccable and she was so easy to communicate with in the months we spent preparing for the wedding day!

Once in connection with Devin we had our first meeting where I learned how bubbly and easy going she is, she was so thorough with her explanation of the process by the end of our chat we truly didn’t have any further questions for her and were left feeling so excited and relieved knowing that the job of capturing our special day would be in Devin’s capable hands.

Devin was so receptive of the ideas we had and even if I couldn’t put into words what we were looking for she encouraged us to send her inspiration and talk through our thoughts and she came up with the most beautiful ideas that were even better than we could’ve imagined.

As our wedding day drew closer Devin’s organization skills and helpful prompts that she uses to make sure she’s going to get all the pictures we wanted of our family and friends, also proved to help make our wedding day go smoother than we could’ve imagined. We were able to tell people who needed to be where at what time and with our large families this was important. Not to mention navigating family members who tried to make their own agenda.

Before our wedding date we got the opportunity to take engagement photos with Devin. Having the chance to work with her before our wedding day was so nice because we got to see her style and she got to see the way my husband and I interacted in front of the camera. As a couple my husband and I don’t usually take many photos together and we were very nervous about being awkward in front of the camera. That nervous energy immediately went away when we were working with Devin because she brought such good energy to the session that we couldn’t help but giggle and smile and be ourselves.

Come the day of the wedding, Devin and her team were there for every moment, going above and beyond in ways that I didn’t even know she was doing until we received our wedding photos from her our jaws dropped open in awe of how incredible they were. As the bride you know there are key shots that you want taken throughout the night, and of course Devin and her team delivered on every request. Then there are the photos you didn’t know you even wanted until you see them, and you feel so grateful that she was there to capture them. From detail shots to photos of the décor, or the candid on the dance floor- all the things as a couple that you have spent so many hours making decisions and wondering “do you think the guests even noticed that we did that” Devin’s photos were proof that the months of planning and the hemming and hawing over the colors and the DIY signs that you made didn’t go unnoticed.

My husband and I were married in September 2021 and we were lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work with Devin of Mile Square Moments. From our first consultation phone call with her, to the day we received our final gallery, Devin was nothing but a pleasure to work with. During our first consultation phone call, Devin asked questions about our personalities get to know us both individually and as a couple. A little while after that, we set our first meeting with Devin to discuss the timeline of the day. We were completely lost as to what to expect and Devin was extremely helpful planning a play-by-play schedule for the day and accommodating the various places to take couples portraits, family portraits, as well as candid shots during the ceremony and reception. She made several suggestions as to where to take photos based on the aesthetic we were looking for and the location of Hoboken. When looking through her work samples, we loved that Devin focused on candid photos throughout the various weddings she worked on and this is exactly what we were looking for. The day could not have gone smoother (even though I was 30 minutes late and the first look). During couples photos, my husband and I felt extremely comfortable and natural, this is a true testimony to how Devin gave us direction and made us feel! The following morning we woke up and had already been sent a preview of our gallery which was absolutely awesome. When we received our full gallery we were blown away by the number of photos, the quality of the images, and seeing all of the pictures of our friends and family on our special evening.
