I’ve had these fantastic donuts over the weekend, and five stars aren’t enough.
For starters they are visually pleasing, like a work of art. To be honest, when I originally saw them on their Instagram account I thought “of course they are beautiful, this is for marketing purposes”, I work in communications, and I know the work that goes into making products look “great” online. I was wrong; they looked just as beautiful as the online post, if not better. Now it was a question of do they taste as beautiful. Ah!
I was greeted by Pryianka, the owner with my order. She was warm, kind, sweet, caring and very informative. Although the order came with an instruction card, she took her time to go over the order. She provided information from the culture, how to preserve and serve them. For a second I forgot I was receiving donuts, she was so detailed and proud of her work I gave her my full attention. I could’ve spent all day getting these instructions. If these donuts were made with the amount of love she exhibited during our meet, I was certain I was in for a treat.
After receiving them I carefully scanned the card she provided trying to figure out which one I should have first. The card was brilliant, it allowed me to figure out which donuts were placed where but also the ingredients, just in case there was one I would naturally not be fond of or allergic. In my case I knew which ones to save for my bestfriend — she loves rose infused anything so I save her the Gulab Jamun and the Rose Pistachio.
I went with the coconut first. I’m an island girl I know my coconut! Let me just say this and I am not joking, I pulled my car to the side of the road so I could enjoy each bite. I am not sure how they do this, the donut is fluffy, moist, and somehow drenched in some kind of flavorful syrup. I don’t know how to explain it, the donut was wet without being mushy. All of this without being overly sweet. It is rich, it’s decadent, it’s exquisite. I felt as if I should be in some Michelin star restaurant paying an exorbitant amount of money. Each bite allowed for my tastebuds to discover a new flavor of the rich Indian culture. It was the right amount, enough to fall in love but not overpowering.
I could write on and one about these donuts but then you’d be spending too much time reading this review as opposed to getting your own. My donuts only lasted a few hours, my friends and goddaughter robbed me! I was able to save one in a ziplock to enjoy at a later time.
I will be using their international shipping to order some for some friends and family. Wi th the holidays coming, this is what everyone is getting!
Remember when Oprah said “you get a car you get a car you get a car!”. Well, in my house it’s about to be “you get a donut you get a donut you get a donut!”.
A very fancy baked not fried, Indian culture rich donut that is! Call me crazy but I think I got Oprah beat!
Pryianka, do keep up the great work! The love you placed in the business name certainly shows in the product and in your encounters. I look forward to seeing this company take over the US and someday the world. We need you in every corner of the world. Thank you for a taste of your home, my home will never be the same. You’ve changed my...

Until Apple created iPhones, nobody noticed how cumbersome writing on a blackberry is. Initially people did not even like the idea of typing on a screen. Then the world warmed up to this awesome idea of typing on a glass plate. It was a gift of innovation.
How would a donut taste when fused with authentic Indian sweet flavors, such as Rasmalai Rabdi, Mango Lassi, Citrus Malai Kulfi, to name a few? I was skeptical at first, but tried nonetheless. And thank God I did. I have tried most of the flavors and each one has its own unique taste, including the most "non-indian" flavor, the Dark Chocolate one.
These baked donuts are not your regular donuts, they are more of bundt cakes. Each piece is handcrafted with care and thoughtfully designed by the owner. I am impressed by the creative ideas the owner put into bringing each one of these pieces into fruition. These don't just taste good but look beautiful. #tooprettytoeat
I have personally ordered from the owner and also visited her stall at Jersey City Smorgasburg, many times, not just for my family but also for my friends, and every time I saw the wow factor in people's reaction after they had the first bite.
Try without prejudice and give yourself this awesome gift - a super tasty cultural mix of a culinary delight. You will not be...
Read moreKneadsomelove delivers high quality pastries and baked goods with ingredients like saffron and cardamom which costs as much as gold in the weight. They are beautiful gorgeous and delectable. I had the opportunity to try some of the assortment bundt cakes both for myself and as a holiday gift for a friend. They were the perfect culmination of looks and taste, and oh so moist. There is nothing like this available in the current market. Owner brings you into her own world, by presenting you a part of her Indian culture. Packaging and presentation was extraordinary and the owner is so personable and really cares about her brand and the quality she puts out. Her effort is very visible in every part of the transaction.
I am saddened to see some of the reviewers complaining about price at a small business shop. I understand that for some it might be a little bit more than what you might want to spend on dessert, but you would spend the same on a chain brand cheesecake slice and trust me that kneadsomelove is far more superior than your average donut/pastry. And one can always ask for the price, although they have a board with prices by the checkout at their smogarsburg pop up shop.
