The Kiwanis bldg was really nice and clean. My husband's cousin got married there, as well as having the reception immediately after the wedding. The reason why I gave it 3/5 stars is because the kitchen was literally bare. There was not one plastic fork, no paper towels, or linen, or anything!!!! Zilch! Everyone knows how stressful it is to do your own wedding. It makes you a special kind of crazy reserved only for the bride or whoever is doing the work. Now, I live in Oregon and this was in Wyoming so I had to travel a good distance to get there. I'm tired. The bride is tired (she has every rite! ;), but there we are making a list for the dollar store, because there is NOTHING OF USE IN THE KITCHEN BUT APPLIANCES AND WATER. Not one stich of linen or not even pot holders! I know some people will think I'm being silly, but if you pay good money for a venue with a kitchen then it should have some small supplies that come with the rental. Go to the dollar store and get some supplies. $5.00 for paper towels and cooking/serving spoons ect.. If people steal them oh well, they were part of the rental charge. It helps to alleviate some of the stress involved with getting married! Or make them account for everything before they pay the bill. ALSO, the groom's family had to stay and completely clean up after the wedding reception. Which is understandable to a certain extent. But, we had to mop the huge floor which was like 2000 Sf of hardwood. We were there really late because you have to do everything. LITERALLY EVERYTHING. SO, the only night we had to relax with family was taken up by all this cleaning. WE HAD TO PUT ALL THE FURNITURE (CHAIRS AND TABLES) AWAY.! CHAIRS are understandable, but the tables were damn heavy, and my husband has had a broken back in the last few years and doesn't need a backache to travel 1,000 miles home with. I think the house could have done that at least that AS A WEDDING GIFT!! It would be a lovely gester...just saying. Instead, we were stressed out, sweating, tired, and crabby with each other , and we went to the hotel and just went to bed because of it. They also have another room exactly the same right next door. There was another party next door and they were hitting the wall between us and it was so loud it startled me, and it even could be heard over the ceremony! That was not cool. At all! This is not their fault. I know this place sounds hideous, but it is beautiful, right on a small body of water, and the grounds were well manicured. Even the night manager was extremely helpful and nice. But, unless you want to deal with all this extra stuff you better find a different place to do the most important ceremony you can do in your life. You can't redo this day EVER. THERE IS NO REPEAT. IF THE DAY IS PUT UNDER UNEEDED STRESS (BECAUSE OF WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE INCONSIDERATE POLICIES) YOU CAN NEVER CHANGE THAT!! Weddings are something families reminisce about well, forever really. Until you die. These memories stay with everyone involved because of this being such a monumental life moment. These are things that would have made this day dang near perfect. Just like it should be. I did take a picture of a beautiful sunset though while I was taking a break from mopping the floor.

This place was absolutely above and beyond what we thought we would be going to for a wedding at a community house. The inside was absolutely beautiful and very well laid out and clean. Just outside as a park and a putt putt golf in this like you see behind us where many people were fishing, but not so many that if you were taking pictures, they would get in the way. It exceeds all expectations!

I was at the Kiwanis Community House for a fly fishing event. I was impressed with the interior of the location. Very clean and well maintained inside and out. Definitely a place that would be special for a wedding reception of family reunion. And the lake was gorgeous, albeit windy.

The staff here are SO helpful and accomodating. I'd esepcially like to recognize Heather for going above and beyond in helping me register my son for Tae Kwon Do lessons and getting my girls on the waiting list for gymnastics. She was extremely helpful and always followed up with me quickly if she needed to check into something further. I can't stress enough what a great asset she is to the City of Cheyenne. My son has enjoyed his Tae Kwon Do lessons and Mr. Flores is an amazing Tae Kwon Do instructor. He is firm but fair and encouraging. I have seen great gains in my son's behavior, self discipline, and overall physical fitness since he...
