Mass Alternative Care Chicopee Dispensary — Local services in Chicopee

Just had one of the best experiences going into this dispensary. I normally come to this one and not to take away from all of my other visits here but what made me decide to leave this review today was not only the help that I received but the positive energy from walk in to walk out. It was a bit busier on both the med and rec side but the wait was not too bad, reps were helping everyone pretty quickly. As soon as I came to the counter I had the unfortunate news that the product I had pre-ordered was out of stock. As I was ready to pull my phone out to look at the menu, which I would normally do in this situation in any dispensary, instead, CRYSTAL was kind enough to do the work for me and offered me some options with much better value and the price difference was almost nothing. I have dealt with her 2 maybe 3 times before and each time she has always been helpful, whether it's recommending something on this visit which saved me a lot of time, or even telling me that I didn't have to keep bringing in my industry badge every time I came in lol It seems like she still has most, if not all, of her sanity left after working on the retail side of things so either she is very good at her job (which is very likely) or maybe possibly an even better actor (which is also very likely)... Either way, keep up the positive energy.

Now the strain I was recommended and got was Fluffhead, which was their "deli style" strain, the order was made on the spot. When I lived in Colorado, at least in my experience, this was something done very often. Moving back to MA made buying almost like a surprise once you got home. Maybe the buds looked nice, maybe they didn't look as cleaned up. Even the grams weighed during production will have slight differences by the time most of the product gets sold... But I digress. Seeing and sometimes smelling are what makes buying cannabis make sense, so I appreciated this. The "deli style" way ensured I have proof of the weight I received when buying it. This strain was testing at a higher TAC than the original strain I went to pick up. I have yet to try it but it does not seem like I will be disappointed by the look or smell of it.

Now Crystal did not have a scale at her station so I had the pleasure of working with EMILY afterwards. What stood out was her diligence cleaning and wiping down the area before getting the product out. And more positive energy came from this interaction as she seemed to be in a good mood, definitely jamming to the song that was on at the time. As Emily was serving and measuring weight, (and dancing/singing) she made sure she was giving me bud she deemed worthy enough for me. She wasn't just grabbing whichever just to make weight, she pushed and pulled her way around the jar to find the best ones she could. At the end she asked me if there was anything else I needed help with and I was on my way out.

When I had arrived, I had just finished driving 30-40 minutes from work in rain with what seemed to be the worst drivers on this sometimes beautiful planet and it was amazing that even through a combination of the bad drivers, how busy the store was and what I ordered wasn't being in stock anymore, these ladies were able to keep my visit positive and as painless as possible, to...

Check this place out! Best dispensary around imo, the only one I go to for the past couple years. Everyone is so amazing at MAC- from security, to the entrance desk, to the budtenders. They are very friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable! I used to peruse the menu, but now I just go in blind, because I know whoever helps me at the medical counter can immediately recommend whatever I need. I regularly get Indica flower, gummies and carts, but no matter what I'd like that day, they always have the best suggestions for me. I think their building size can be deceiving, because MAC has quite a tremendous variety of literally everything. I cannot emphasize enough the quality of the products as well. Every kind of product that I've tried has been top notch (with the exception of a couple bad disposable carts, which you can return within 30 days if it's defective). They label their products expertly, listing precise dosages, strain information, terpene %'s, effects, harvest & packaging dates, etc. My favorite are the full spectrum RSO 25 mg CBD 1:1 MAC gummies, called SMACS. Picked up a Granddaddy Purple 1g cart yesterday and it's 🔥 The prices at MAC are excellent, very competitive. There are great discounts, changing every day, for seniors, Veterans, etc. As a medical patient, we earn loyalty points on each purchase that can be saved or used toward our next purchase. On Tuesday, we earn double points, and Thursday is 20% off purchases. On top of that there are also sales. And when my medical card lapsed, I didn't realize I couldn't get the same gummies, so the budtender kindly gave me information to get recertified. Went home, booked an appt 1½ hours later online, put some medical information on a form ahead of time, then in a 5 minute phone call, I was recertified. I'm almost afraid to share all of this about MAC, because I feel like it's just our little secret, hidden away all by itself. I didn’t know it was there, as I drove by every day for months and literally thought skunks lived nearby, but I finally did discover this wonderful hidden treasure before they put their huge sign on the fence. March 17, 2025: I do apologize for the belated editing of the review, but I am raising the stars to perfect--Every dispensary operates slightly differently in production, handling, labeling, etc of their products but back then I was a bit of a novice and did not realize this. You guys are fine! I am editing to reflect the change. Your employees are still top-notch from security to checking-out, and now that I have reevaluated, I do believe you've earned the five-stars!

Final edit same day haha: My eyes have been needing progressive lenses for more than three years...the only negative I had with you guys was prolly still on me 😝 I'll be correcting for THAT soon enough with better glasses. Again I am sorry for any past misjudgments!

(Original review ~ year ago) First visit was about four days ago. Medical patient with appropriate card for my jurisdiction, but seek what I need based upon cost due to my current area being serviced by only four growers as well as subpar standards to hold said-folks accountable for quality control.

Pleasantly surprised at the abundance of strains, particularly indica and indica-dominant, and for reasonable costs at this facility! The staff, from security team to front of house were all warm, inviting, and helpful. I didn't realize there was a perk of 10% off when ordering ahead, so what a relief and thrill it was.

My only caveat: The product was a bit on the dry side. I've had much worse, so this isn't an insult; however it needs to be said, it was very hard to pack and catch properly without burning up too quickly. Can we get better quality, or perhaps inform ahead of time the dates of cultivation?
