I had a problem on seeclickfix.com with the city's DPW representative Barry Brouillard, My neighbors have a problem with using standard trash bags, they use grocery shopping bags that are untied with the lid open and trash billows into the street as well as in everyone's yards, yet after taking several photos and with over a month with no response the city's representatives wrote ""BB looked at it 11:05, not overflow as lid is more closed than open and grocery plastic bags are acceptable to use" and then closed the case and just to clarify the bags were untied in other words he drove out took one look at the problem didn't bother investigating, and wrote off the whole issue cause he didn't want to do his job, and if it's the same yellow city truck that I see drive by on trash day I've seen him stop look at the problem and several times just drive away with out saying or doing anything with trash blowing all...
Read moreOn 12/17/2016 we had a 6 inch snow fall; 2 plows were clearing the streets in my neighborhood. There were cars parked on Cochran St.hindering the removal. One of those cars was parked in front of my house, the plows went by and unavoidably left more snow at the end of my driveway than they normally would have had that car not been parked where it was. As I continued to shovel my property the two plows came by again. This time the first plow stopped and successfully removed much of the snow that had been left at the end of my drive. He lifted snow away 2 or 3 times! Then the 2nd plow lifted his blade and came onto my driveway and up to the sidewalk. He then lowered his blade, reversed, and scraped the snow from the bottom of the driveway. These two men went out of their way to remove snow from my property. They are the...
Read moreChicopee DPW seems to have policies that change with the whim of the driver and whoever answers the phone on any particular day. It's a constant battle between who is responsible for what. Trashmen will toss pizza boxes, certain plastic and empty 5 gallon ice melter buckets on the ground and into the yard saying it's all recycling. Meanwhile the ridiculous recycling company Chicopee's infernal town council contracted with will say those same items cannot be recycled and are all trash. No matter that the plastic bits and the bucket all have the numbers that the recycling company told us originally were recyclable and throw all those same items into the street and yard. The city wonders why illegal dumping has dramatically increased...
