August 2024 Never got my dress. Peggy never tried to make it right in any way, nor did I get so much as an apology (except for the snarky one in her shop the day I tried to pick up my dress).I realize a 40 year old dress isn't worth much to anyone else, but it was meant to be keepsakes for my daughter and granddaughter. Don't be sorry like me. Go anywhere else.
November 2023: It has now been over 2 months and not a single word from Peggy about my missing, excuse me ..."misplaced"...dress. Use this woman at your own risk! BTW- Bettter Business Bureau is a waste of time.
Original review: Peggy LOST my 40 year old wedding dress. Let me repeat....She LOST the wedding dress I had been saving for my daughter for 40 years, that I had entrusted her with, to fashion some special pieces for my daughter's wedding day. That's really all you need to know and I wanted to get that out up front in case you aren't interested in the details. Here's what happened: Last fall, I posted a feeler on a local FB page looking for someone local to create some items from my wedding dress for my daughter's wedding this September. Peggy came highly recommended by several people, so I reached out to her via FB Messenger and made the hour long trip from my home to her shop with my dress and some friends in tow. My friends and I were a little taken aback by the chaos of her shop, but I was told she was a good seamstress-and maybe she is-so we talked about creating a bear for my toddler granddaughter and a wedding clutch for my daughter and I left my dress in Peggy's care. Fast forward 7 months and plans changed. I contacted Peggy and verified she hadn't started my project yet. I told her I needed to pick up my dress and scheduled a time to do so. Again, with my friends along, I traveled to Chillicothe on the day Peggy and I had agreed upon to retrieve my dress. Knowing I was coming, I assumed Peggy would have the dress handy for a quick pick up. I soon realized she had not attempted to locate my dress until I showed up in her shop. Within minutes, it was clear she couldn't find my dress. She stated "it isn't lost, it's just misplaced". At one point, she walked out from the back of her shop where she had been searching, with a dress in her arms and offered up "my" dress. She tried giving me a dress that wasn't mine! I had to tell her it wasn't my dress!! When I stated that she had LOST my 40 year old wedding dress, she snarkily replied "Well I'm sorry!"--incidentally, that is the only apology I have received to date and it's been nearly 2 weeks since this event occurred. She told me that my dress could be at her house because she had some dresses there. So I left without my dress, assuming she would find it at home and contact me. That evening, after giving her ample time to get home and look around for my dress, I had to reach out to her, only for her to tell me that none of the dresses at her house were mine. But she would keep looking! Next thing I see, she closes up her shop for over 2 weeks to recharge her mind. Thirteen days now, and I have received no further communication regarding her search for my dress. She has shown no sense of urgency, no regret at having lost my dress, nor has she offered any resolution or apology besides the snarky one I mentioned before. I should have trusted my gut when I looked around her shop last fall, but I didn't. I am sorry that I trusted her with such an important piece of my family history. I am heartbroken that I will have no keepsakes to give my daughter and granddaughter because of Peggy's disorganization and carelessness. As much as the fact that she lost my dress is distressing, her lack of an appropriate response to having done so is really appalling and not how I would think any business owner would react given this scenario. If at some point my dress magically turns up, I will update this post. Until then, this review and the complaint I filed with the Better Business Bureau are the only...

Recently Peggy did the alterations I needed for my wedding dress. My wedding dress was ordered too big, and I was so nervous of having alterations as I was afraid it would be complicated. I quickly learned it was not complicated at all as she went right to work on pinning it to the perfect size for me.
I explained to her I really wished it had more glitz, and she said thatâs not a problem, and that she beads dresses all the time. She listened to what I liked and created a vision for my dress.
Let me tell you, her beading is exquisite! The detail she did, took my breath away! When I purchased my dress I didnât cry, but when I picked it up from Peggy, I did! It was BEAUTIFUL! She made my dress, my dress! Itâs me now, and I LOVE it!
I am so excited to walk down the aisle tomorrow in my dress thanks to Peggy!
If you need a seamstress, there is no one better! Thank you...
