Chippewa Area History Center — Local services in Chippewa Falls

Great history of Chippewa Falls and the Chippewa Valley region. The way they use quotes from those who built the area adds to the already fascinating displays. Look for an extensive history on the lumber era (including tools, methods used to cut and haul trees, heavy equipment, etc.), business leaders, the Northern Wisconsin Colony (now Center), fur trading, Native Americans, the Northern Wisconsin State Fair, and our military heroes, including a nice feature about Old Abe. Built in 2020, this facility is large and well kept. This is a great place for kids since there are a lot of interactive exhibits and a scavenger hunt.
